It didn’t take long for someone who knew her to post Gu Nanqiu’s College Entrance Exam score and chosen department.
She tapped to check A Little Less Sincerity’s profile. The avatar was a cute little dog—adorable.
No other posts, so she had no idea who it was.
A da-da sound came from the door. Yue Yiyue instinctively looked up and saw Gu Nanqiu standing aggrieved in the doorway.
Gu Nanqiu stared straight at Yue Yiyue, who lay inside covered by a thin blanket in soft cotton pajamas, her lips slightly swollen. “You really won’t sleep with me?”
“Yiyue, I can’t sleep without you beside me.” Nanqiu slyly tugged half the blanket over herself: “Just a kiss and you’re this shy. We’ll be living together for so long in the future.”
Just not for too long—no kissing at all.
Gu Nanqiu let out a low chuckle and leaned in to brush Yue Yiyue’s lips again: “I knew Yiyue was the best. We’re the best of friends, after all.”
Once the words were out, it got easier. Yue Yiyue said the nonsense with utter seriousness: “This kind of thing is only for best friends, got it.”
She passively accepted Gu Nanqiu’s deep, aggressive kiss.
With the tentacles’ movements, red marks circled her pale skin—the skin hidden under clothes all day and rarely seeing the sun—intensely ambiguous.
Her sensitive nose was overwhelmed by that rotten floral fragrance.
Memories flashed by in countless fragments.
When she opened her eyes, Yue Yiyue saw the plump, round back of a beautiful head of hair. She looked at Gu Nanqiu sleeping sweetly in her arms.
She carefully pinched Gu Nanqiu’s slender, well-jointed hand,
Then compared their sizes.
And why had she slept so well?
Two officers stood by the police car, a tight crowd surrounding the area.
Yue Yiyue watched the teachers and students out for their morning jog at C University while leisurely watering the balcony plants.
Until sleepy-eyed Gu Nanqiu wrapped her arms around her.
She boldly buried her head in Yue Yiyue’s neck and clingily acted spoiled: “Why up so early? Waking up without you made me a bit down.”
Last night, she’d only slightly altered Yue Yiyue’s cognition—a tiny bit—to make kissing her seem very normal for ordinary best friends.
With that, the light in Gu Nanqiu’s eyes grew brighter and brighter. She nuzzled Yue Yiyue: “I miss you so much.”
Though it was just a tiny sliver she’d remembered—and even she hadn’t noticed.
