Chapter 12: Persuasion
=====================
He Jingsu was bewildered by her laugh. She waved a hand in front of her face and asked, puzzled, “What are you laughing at?”
She sounded like the villains in the movies her mommy’s company produced!
“Ahem!” Zhou Li quickly reined in her somewhat creepy smile, leaned closer to He Jingsu, and whispered, “Could you talk to Bei Queting and ask her to come to our class for evening self-study?”
He Jingsu blinked.
Qiu Si silently glanced at Zhou Li. “Why don’t you ask the class if they want to have a lesson during evening self-study?”
Zhou Li grinned, full of confidence. “If it were a teacher, of course, the students wouldn’t want it. But if it’s Bei Queting, hehe…”
She looked up and shouted to the class, “Would everyone be willing if Bei Queting came to teach us during evening self-study!”
The moment they heard the name “Bei Queting,” everyone’s eyes lit up. Some even excitedly rushed over to Zhou Li, grabbing her by the shoulders and shaking her. “Class monitor! Is Bei Queting really coming! When! What do we need to prepare!”
Zhou Li, being shaken vigorously, quickly raised her hands to stop her. “Stop, stop, you’re going to make me throw up!”
The girl immediately smiled shyly, reverting to her gentle demeanor. Her voice was so soft it could almost drip water. “Class monitor~ Is what you said true~”
The others also looked at her with eager eyes.
Few of the students who got into this school were slackers who didn’t want to study. Even if there were, they would gradually be drawn into the learning atmosphere.
Zhou Li cleared her throat and began to play it cool.
“I was just asking for your opinion. It’s not set in stone yet!”
“Class monitor, class monitor, our good class monitor, if you can get Bei Queting to come, you’ll be our goddess!” someone immediately said. Many of them knew about the situation in class 6. Who wouldn’t want Bei Queting to come and teach their class? Even if they didn’t listen to the lesson, just looking at her was a treat!
He Jingsu, who had witnessed the whole thing, was speechless.
She stared with wide eyes. She had never expected Beibei to have so many fans in her own class!
Qiu Si was also a little puzzled by the situation. Were the students really this enthusiastic about studying now?
Zhou Li calmed everyone down and then turned her attention to He Jingsu, beginning to brainwash her.
“Junior He, think about it. If Bei Queting doesn’t come to our class, you won’t be able to see her during evening self-study. You’ll only get to see her for a little while during the breaks. But if she comes, you’ll be able to see her all night, right?”
“And! We promise! We swear! During the breaks, Bei Queting will be all yours. We absolutely won’t fight with you for her!”
Zhou Li could see it clearly. This He Jingsu was a possessive one! The reason Bei Queting didn’t come to class 16 as often anymore must be because He Jingsu didn’t like them taking up her time!
Ah, the deadly possessiveness of childhood sweethearts!
The more she spoke, the more tempted He Jingsu became. Once a person was tempted, it was like a seed had been planted in their heart, just waiting to sprout.
Seeing that He Jingsu was clearly tempted, Zhou Li gave a sly smile and turned back around without saying anything more. Now, it was time for her to convince herself!
Qiu Si watched He Jingsu, who was now seriously considering it, and blinked without saying anything. She had a feeling that He Jingsu would definitely go and talk to Bei Queting about this. After all, she was so clingy with her.
Sure enough, during the long break, when Bei Queting came to find He Jingsu, she quickly pulled her to a less crowded spot behind the academic building, where few people usually went.
“Beibei, I have something to tell you!” He Jingsu said, holding her hand, her eyes sparkling.
Her expression made Bei Queting’s heart skip a beat, then speed up. Her throat felt a little tight, and she felt a mix of apprehension and anticipation. “What is it?” she asked in a low voice.
“Beibei, can you come to our class 16 for evening self-study!” He Jingsu’s eyes were full of longing. Zhou Li was right! This way, she could see Beibei!
Hearing her words, Bei Queting’s throat bobbed slowly. “Is that what you wanted to tell me?” she asked, her voice a little dry.
“Yes!” He Jingsu nodded, the little tuft of hair on her head bouncing along.
Bei Queting was speechless.
She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling a little ridiculous, but also amused by He Jingsu’s antics. “Did someone give you this idea?” she asked helplessly.
He Jingsu blinked, not saying anything.
So that was it.
Seeing her reaction, Bei Queting knew she had guessed correctly. She pinched He Jingsu’s little cheek and, meeting her clear, innocent eyes, sighed inwardly. “I’ll talk to the teachers and see if it’s possible,” she said with a gentle smile.
“Mhm, mhm!” He Jingsu replied happily.
Seeing her so happy, Bei Queting’s gaze softened. She sat there and chatted with her, listening to her tell many interesting stories. It seemed that anything that came out of He Jingsu’s mouth was interesting to Bei Queting.
When it was almost time for class, the two of them headed back.
When He Jingsu returned to the classroom, she didn’t see Qiu Si and was a little puzzled. Qiu Si usually stayed in the classroom.
“Senior Hai came to find her.” Seeing her expression, Zhou Li knew what she was thinking. She explained, then quickly asked, “So? Did you talk to Bei Queting?”
He Jingsu looked at Qiu Si, who was coming in through the front door, and nodded. “I did, but she needs to ask the teachers first.”
Hearing this, Zhou Li smiled in satisfaction. As long as Bei Queting agreed, the matter was basically settled!
Qiu Si returned to her seat, and He Jingsu looked at her with a somber expression.
Qiu Si was confused. “???”
“Daidai?” she called out softly.
He Jingsu nodded seriously and asked, “Why is the senior still coming to find you?”
Qiu Si was silent for a moment, not knowing what to say.
He Jingsu was heartbroken. “Si Si! Study!”
Study = Knowledge, Knowledge = Wealth!
“Daidai, I’m not neglecting my studies, and we’re not dating,” Qiu Si said in a small voice. Right now, they could only be considered friends.
He Jingsu rubbed her chin and looked at her thoughtfully.
“You’re really not neglecting your studies?” she asked worriedly.
Qiu Si nodded. “My grades don’t seem to have dropped.”
He Jingsu thought back. That seemed to be true, but she still said with concern, “I’ll be keeping an eye on you from now on! You absolutely cannot let it affect your studies!”
Hearing her words, Qiu Si smiled. She was the elder, but now it felt like Daidai was the one in charge.
In the third-year academic building, Hai Yuesheng sneezed and looked around, bewildered.
