Chapter 42: Confession
=====================
The two of them returned to their respective classrooms. It was already the second semester of their second year of high school. If they could still play without much burden in the first semester, thinking they had a lot of time, from this semester on, from the moment they entered the classroom, they could clearly feel the change in atmosphere.
The learning atmosphere began to become tense.
If in the first semester, the other students still had a sense of distance from Bei Queting due to their lack of understanding, then after a semester of getting along, they were able to understand her character more and more, especially after Li Ao’s group had left. The atmosphere in the classroom had improved by more than a little.
Bei Queting sat down at her seat. Xia Mu still gave her a shy smile and greeted her.
Bei Queting nodded and looked up at the podium. The students’ attitude toward her had changed from the moment she stood on that podium.
When He Jingsu returned to the classroom, Qiu Si had already arrived. They had been able to see each other every day during the winter break, so they didn’t have the excitement of other students who hadn’t seen each other for a whole winter break.
Before He Jingsu came in, they were excitedly chatting about the interesting things that had happened during the winter break. But when He Jingsu came in, their gossiping gazes all fell on her.
This one, without a sound, had taken down the academic goddess of Xingzhi High during the summer break! How detestable!
He Jingsu looked at them all looking at her with an expression she couldn’t understand and asked, puzzled, “What’s wrong with you all?”
It seemed like there was envy, and also a desire to eat her. It was scary.
However, Zhou Li, as the head of the CP fan club, was extremely happy to see this situation. There were many people in her class who admired Bei Queting or liked He Jingsu. Now, reality had directly made them give up that thought!
“Daidai, what does it feel like to be in a relationship with the academic goddess?” someone moved closer to He Jingsu and asked with envy, jealousy, and hatred. Damn it, how did these two get together!
Hearing her question, He Jingsu thought carefully about the feeling of being in a relationship with Beibei, and her eyes curved into a smile. “It’s super good! Beibei is super good! And you can kiss her without asking!”
The people around who heard her words were speechless.
Hateful! Why did you have to ask her this question!
You can kiss without asking, so they can kiss anytime, anywhere!
Qiu Si also smiled when she heard Daidai’s words. She pulled her out of the crowd and, looking at the sour expressions on their faces, wanted to laugh even more.
And the girl behind He Jingsu who had asked her to deliver a love letter before looked at He Jingsu’s back and sighed softly. No wonder she didn’t help her deliver the love letter back then. It turned out she had this idea herself!
They had grown up together as childhood sweethearts. What could she have that could compare to that?
The first day of school passed smoothly. But on the first day, Bei Queting’s classmates were shocked by her. While the other students were still studying high school knowledge, Bei Queting was already reading related professional books!
“Bei Queting, are you planning to go to medical school in the future?” Xia Mu asked curiously, seeing the medical books in her hand.
“Mhm,” Bei Queting replied, not saying much more.
The reason she had these books was because Madam He Yuan had given them to her, telling her to look at them in advance when she had time, so it would be easier to understand when she listened later.
Madam He Yuan was currently a lecturer at the medical university and had directly given her a full set of textbooks in advance.
The others silently shrank back. Being in the same class as Bei Queting was really a blow. This person was learning things that were way too advanced!
Bei Queting enjoyed this feeling of constantly absorbing knowledge. The more she knew, the stronger she seemed to become. As long as she was strong, she could protect the people she loved and also prevent herself from being bullied.
At night, He Jingsu, as usual, teleported to Bei Queting’s bed, completely treating it as her own.
Bei Queting held her in her arms, ruffling her soft fur, a sense of satisfaction rising in her heart.
The next day, before class, Zhou Li turned around and asked He Jingsu mysteriously, “How is your relationship with Bei Queting?”
He Jingsu looked at her, bewildered. Of course, her relationship with Beibei was good!
Seeing her look as if she didn’t understand what she was saying, Zhou Li’s face showed a look of “as expected.”
She glanced at Qiu Si beside He Jingsu and told He Jingsu not to go to Bei Queting after class for a while. She had something to give her.
Qiu Si heard her mysterious words and looked at her with a puzzled gaze. Why did it not feel like a good thing?
He Jingsu found Zhou Li’s words very strange. She had originally not wanted to pay attention to her. After class, compared to seeing Zhou Li, of course, she wanted to see Beibei more!
But after class, just as she was about to get up and leave her seat to find Beibei, she was suddenly pulled by Zhou Li, led out of the classroom, and down to the back of the academic building. There were not many people here, so it was convenient to talk.
Zhou Li took out a few books from her bag and handed them to her, saying mysteriously, “You have to read these when you go back, especially learn how the people in them talk. If you learn it, I guarantee your Beibei will like you even more!”
He Jingsu held the books in her hand and, hearing her words, her eyes widened in shock. “What could be so amazing?!”
Zhou Li’s face showed a look of “you’ll thank me later.” She patted her shoulder and said, “What do girls like the most? You go back and think about it carefully. Remember to read the books. Maybe you’ll know after you finish reading!”
“By the way, don’t let Bei Queting know about these.”
After saying that, she thought for a moment and still handed the bag to He Jingsu to put the books in. It wouldn’t be good for her to carry these books back so openly. After handing it to her, she patted her shoulder again, looking as if she had accomplished a great deed and was hiding her merit, and left.
He Jingsu held the bag and the books, her face full of a confusion that could not be described.
She lowered her head and carefully looked at the covers and summaries. They were just some novels!
Did these novels have such great magic? To be able to make Beibei like her even more?
He Jingsu was a little skeptical, but in the end, she still took the books back.
Qiu Si saw her being pulled out by Zhou Li and then coming back with the bag that Zhou Li had been carrying, and asked, puzzled, “Daidai, why are you holding the class monitor’s bag?”
He Jingsu looked down at the bag, said, “Oh,” and then said, “She gave me a few books to read.”
Hearing her say this, Qiu Si didn’t think much of it, just thought that Zhou Li had given her some reference books.
After class in the afternoon, they returned to the dorm. Qiu Si went to take a shower, and He Jingsu took out a book that Zhou Li had given her and started to read. It was a romance novel. Although she didn’t understand why Zhou Li wanted her to read these, she still persisted with the thought that Beibei would like her even more after she finished reading.
However, the more she read, the more engrossed she became. She didn’t even notice when Qiu Si came out of the shower. It was only when Qiu Si called her that she reacted.
She quickly put the book away, her face a little hot.
When she went in to take a shower, her mind was still on the plot of the novel.
The romance in the book, how is it different from hers and Beibei’s?
Qiu Si was drying her hair, a little stunned by He Jingsu’s earlier secretive actions. She was a little curious about what she was reading, but out of respect for Daidai’s privacy, she didn’t go and look at her book.
He Jingsu, who had just come out of the shower, had originally wanted to continue reading from where she had left off, but thinking that Beibei would be over soon, she didn’t continue. She thought she would read it at night, finish it early, and learn it early, so Beibei could like her even more early!
During evening self-study, Bei Queting, as usual, was in He Jingsu’s classroom, sitting in her exclusive chair. Zhou Li even turned around and gave He Jingsu a look of “how about it, not bad, right?”
He Jingsu’s face was tense, pretending not to see her expression.
Bei Queting naturally noticed Zhou Li’s situation. She looked at her, then at Daidai, and felt that they were hiding something from her. And Daidai actually had something to hide from her?
Bei Queting was shocked by this realization, and also a little disappointed.
Her Daidai also had her own little secrets.
At night, when it was time to sleep, He Jingsu told Bei Queting that she wouldn’t be sleeping at her place tonight. She wanted to feel her own bed, since she hadn’t slept in it much.
Hearing that she wasn’t coming over to sleep, Bei Queting was a little silent. She later suggested that she go to He Jingsu’s place to sleep with her, but unexpectedly, He Jingsu flatly refused, looking as if she were afraid she would really come over.
However, the reason He Jingsu didn’t want her to come over was very simple. She planned to pull an all-nighter to finish the book, so she wouldn’t have to always read it secretly. And after she finished reading, she had to give Beibei a surprise!
But at night, Bei Queting lay in bed, and without the soft, fluffy cloud beside her, she suddenly began to feel extremely unaccustomed. It seemed that ever since she and Daidai had come home and lived together, they had rarely slept apart.
Bei Queting lay with her eyes open, staring at the ceiling, thinking about Daidai’s strange behavior these days. Although she didn’t believe that Daidai would get tired of her, these abnormal actions still made her feel uneasy.
On the other side, although He Jingsu was also not used to it, thinking that she had to finish the book early, she still forced herself to put aside the unaccustomed feeling and began to read the novel seriously.
However, the result of sleeping in separate beds was also very obvious the next day. He Jingsu’s true form was a panda, and when she was in her human form, she also had panda eyes.
As for Bei Queting, although she was not a panda, her dark circles were no lighter than He Jingsu’s. It was clear that she had also not slept well all night.
The next morning, when the two of them met, they looked at each other’s dark circles. He Jingsu’s eyes widened in surprise. She moved closer and looked carefully, as if she couldn’t believe it. “Beibei! You actually have dark circles!”
For so many years, He Jingsu had never seen dark circles on Bei Queting’s face!
Bei Queting silently glanced at her, looking at the same dark circles on her face, and was silent for a long time. It was clear that Daidai had also not slept well. But why did she insist on sleeping in separate beds?
The taste of insomnia. Bei Queting recalled the taste of last night. She really hadn’t felt it for many, many years.
Ever since she had been sleeping with Daidai, she didn’t know what insomnia felt like.
Bei Queting really wanted to ask He Jingsu why, but with her still close attitude, she couldn’t bring herself to ask. Was she being too sensitive? Maybe Daidai just wanted to try sleeping in separate beds?
With He Jingsu’s still close attitude, Bei Queting suppressed her emotions and didn’t ask any more questions.
Maybe it was true. Even lovers needed their own space. They had had almost no personal space before.
Bei Queting pressed her lips together, thinking of the information that said pandas were solitary animals. Was Daidai starting to show this?
However, He Jingsu didn’t know about Bei Queting’s inner turmoil. She had stayed up all night and finally finished a novel. She felt that she had learned something from it. The class monitor had not lied to her after all. She felt that after she learned it, Beibei might really like her more and more!
After all, in the novel, the main characters’ relationship just got better and better!
For the next few days, He Jingsu and Bei Queting slept in separate beds. In this situation, Bei Queting became more and more worried, wondering if her Daidai’s feelings for her were really fading.
On Friday afternoon, after school, they went home. The two adults were not at home. A phone call revealed that they had gone on a trip. Hearing this, He Jingsu’s eyes immediately lit up. Didn’t that mean that for this whole weekend, it would be just her and Beibei?!
This was such a good world for two!
Having finished the novel and feeling that she had learned it, a certain dazed one began to get excited and plan. She had to make Beibei happy!
After all, for some reason, she had felt that Beibei’s mood was not very high recently, as if she had a lot on her mind!
Bei Queting saw that He Ying and the others were not there, so it seemed she would have to prepare the little cub’s food.
She recalled the food she had made before. It didn’t taste good at all, but she had still been so supportive. What about now? Would she still be so supportive of the things she made?
She was a little apprehensive, but she still chose to do it. She also wanted to see what Daidai’s reaction would be this time.
However, while she was preparing dinner, He Jingsu quietly went out and bought a lot of things, then began to decorate the courtyard, filling it with small colorful lights, creating a very good atmosphere!
“Beibei, can we have dinner in the courtyard tonight!” He Jingsu poked her head in and said very happily.
Hearing her happy voice, Bei Queting was dazed for a moment, but in the end, she agreed.
After she was done, the two of them brought the things out together, and she saw the courtyard full of colorful lights.
“Beibei, the moonlight is so beautiful tonight!” He Jingsu said.
Hearing her words, Bei Queting almost stumbled. She turned her head to look at Daidai’s serious, innocent, and happy face, and was silent.
If she wasn’t mistaken, was Daidai confessing to her?
This sentence was used for confessions, right?
When had Daidai become so artistic?
Bei Queting was genuinely confused.

Daidai! When did you become an artistic demon!
