Chapter 49: Bei Yan
=====================
This matter caused a lot of discussion at school. After all, the surname Bei was not common. And this new student had been trying to get close to Bei Queting from the moment she arrived, which made them start to wonder if the two of them were related.
The same surname, could they be family?
Bei Queting looked at the graceful girl in front of her and felt a chill rise from the soles of her feet. She froze on the spot, unable to say anything.
The sweet-looking girl stood in front of Bei Queting’s desk with a smile, bent down slightly, and said, “We haven’t seen each other for so many years. If you didn’t look so much like Aunt Qing, I wouldn’t have recognized you.”
Bei Queting’s face turned pale. The girl in front of her was clearly smiling, but it made her feel suffocated.
Was her peaceful life of more than ten years about to be disrupted again?
“What are you doing so close to Beibei? Get away from her!”
A serious and direct voice entered Bei Queting’s ears. She was slightly dazed, looked up at the person who had approached, and as if she had seen her salvation, she reached out and held He Jingsu’s hand tightly.
No, it won’t. My life won’t be disrupted.
“Beibei?” The girl looked at Bei Queting with a half-smile, then her gaze fell on He Jingsu, the smile in her eyes deepening. “Are you and Beibei friends? Beibei and I are childhood friends.”
Bei Queting’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. Just as she was about to speak, He Jingsu said with a serious expression, “You’re not allowed to call her Beibei. Only I can call her that!”
This serious correction was completely unexpected for the girl. She looked at He Jingsu, a little stunned. It was just a name. Was it necessary to be so serious?
“Why can only you call her Beibei? She and I are childhood friends. Of course, I can call her whatever I want. I can even call her wild…”
“Shut up!”
Before she could finish, Bei Queting suddenly cut her off with a cold shout. She looked at her with icy eyes, gritted her teeth slightly, and was about to say something more when she was suddenly hugged by He Jingsu, her whole body leaning against her.
“Beibei is my girlfriend, so of course, only I can call her that! If you call her Beibei again, I’ll hit you!” He Jingsu said very angrily.
She had never been so angry before. In the past, when others had mistakenly called her Beibei, they would stop after being corrected. But this person in front of her was really annoying!
“Hit me?” The girl suddenly let out a laugh, her originally sweet face now holding a hint of contempt. “If you want to hit me, you have to see if you can win.”
He Jingsu was furious. No one had ever dared to challenge her in a fight!
“Daidai.” Bei Queting held her waist, her voice a little cold. “You don’t have to bother with her. She’s just an insignificant person.”
“Insignificant?” The girl sneered. “Bei Queting, we haven’t seen each other for so many years, and you’ve grown some backbone. And…” Her gaze fell on He Jingsu, her smile growing more and more meaningful. “You even have a girlfriend? I wonder how good your relationship is.”
Bei Queting’s face turned pale, and her hands around He Jingsu’s waist tightened.
“You’re really annoying when you talk. Can you talk less in the future?” Being held and comforted by Bei Queting, He Jingsu was finally not so angry, but she still disliked the girl very much and said with a serious expression.
The other students around who heard He Jingsu’s words couldn’t help but cover their mouths and let out a few laughs. It was so infuriating it was deadly!
“You!” The girl glared. Just as she was about to get angry, the class bell rang. The students returned to their classrooms one after another, and she couldn’t cause any more trouble. She just said, “I hope you can still say such things in the future!”
With that, she walked to the podium and waited for the teacher to come in.
He Jingsu wrinkled her nose, still not liking the look of that person.
“Alright, Daidai, go back to your classroom first. I’ll tell you what’s going on later, okay?” Bei Queting kissed He Jingsu on the cheek and soothed her in a low voice.
Being kissed by her, He Jingsu also pouted and gave Bei Queting a kiss on the cheek. She pouted, but in the end, she obediently left. As she passed the girl, she even shot her a disgusted look.
So annoying.
Really so annoying!
The other students who had witnessed them kissing in public were speechless.
Are you not treating us as people?!
And the girl saw this situation, her eyes narrowed. She looked at Bei Queting, who was watching the person leave with a light smile on her lips, and a meaningful smile appeared on her lips. She didn’t even care about He Jingsu’s disgusted little look.
Just then, the homeroom teacher walked in. She smiled and introduced to everyone, “This is our new student, Junior Bei. You can introduce yourself to everyone.”
The girl had a confident smile on her face and introduced herself gracefully, “My name is Bei Yan. You can call me Yanyan. I really like to sing, and I’m from the same clan as Bei Queting. I hope everyone will take care of me in the future.”
Hearing her introduction, the others in the class who had been there before felt a little strange. Everyone’s gaze subtly fell on Bei Queting.
So they are family.
Bei Queting listened to her self-introduction with a blank expression, looked up, and met Bei Yan’s half-smiling eyes. After a two-second pause, she looked away.
“Then Bei Yan, you can sit in that seat for now. When the class adjusts the seats later, we’ll adjust them all together,” the homeroom teacher said.
“Teacher, can I sit next to Bei Queting? After all, I’m more familiar with her. If we sit together, it will be more convenient for her to help me integrate into the group,” Bei Yan said with a smile.
“But Bei Queting has a…” the homeroom teacher said with some difficulty.
“Teacher!” Xia Mu suddenly raised her hand, then looked at Bei Yan and said very seriously, “I’m sorry, Bei Yan. My grades are not very good, so I need to sit next to Bei Queting so she can conveniently tutor me. I’m sorry I can’t switch with you.”
The person who was originally very shy and timid suddenly had the courage to refuse in front of so many people and even said so much.
Hearing her words, Bei Queting pressed her lips together, a warmth spreading in her chest.
Hearing Xia Mu’s refusal, Bei Yan was silent for a moment, then she smiled. “In that case, I won’t fight with you for it.”
With that, she sat in the seat that the homeroom teacher had assigned.
Seeing that she was not continuing to pester, Xia Mu breathed a sigh of relief. She had been sitting in her seat earlier and had naturally heard the conversation between Bei Queting and the others. She felt that although that Bei Yan seemed to be smiling, it felt like she was hiding a needle, and she was not as good to Bei Queting as she had said.
“Thank you,” Bei Queting said in a low voice.
“N-no problem. I didn’t want to go to that seat myself,” Xia Mu said, stuttering a little.
Bei Queting let out a low laugh, but her heart sank. She didn’t know if Bei Yan’s transfer was intentional or just a coincidence.
But no matter what, Bei Yan had already transferred.
She had thought that she would never have any contact with them in this lifetime, but she hadn’t expected to meet them again after so many years.
During the break, Bei Yan came to Bei Queting and said with a smile, “Bei Queting, I’m new here and not very familiar. Can you please show me around the campus? And get to know the classmates?”
Bei Queting looked up at her. This person’s acting skills were really getting better and better. Before, she would look at her with a look of disgust and sarcasm. Now, she could even pretend to be so friendly.
“Sorry, I have my own things to do. You can find other classmates,” Bei Queting said in a calm voice.
Bei Yan’s eyes narrowed. She bent down slightly and moved closer to Bei Queting’s ear, whispering, “We haven’t seen each other for so many years, and your wings have grown hard. You dare to disobey me now?”
Bei Queting’s eyes darkened, and her voice grew even colder. “When have I ever listened to you?”
She had known Bei Yan’s true nature a long time ago. This person just wanted to see her suffer and struggle. This mentality would not change just because she was obedient. In fact, it might even make her humiliate her even more.
Hearing her words, Bei Yan’s face turned ugly. Then she slowly stood up, her gaze falling on He Jingsu, who had just walked into the classroom. She said softly, “It seems you care about her very much.”
With that, she gave Bei Queting a meaningful smile and gracefully walked back to her seat.
Bei Queting’s face turned cold, and her heart instantly tightened. What did Bei Yan mean by that? What did she want to do to Daidai?
In the past, Bei Yan had loved to snatch her things. Even if those things were useless to her, she would snatch them and then casually throw them away, just to satisfy her own sick mentality!
“Beibei, what’s wrong?” He Jingsu walked closer to Bei Queting and saw her cold and stern expression, blinking with some confusion. She had rarely seen Beibei like this. Could it be because of the girl who had just been standing next to Beibei?
“Did she bully you!” He Jingsu’s murderous gaze shot toward Bei Yan.
“No,” Bei Queting quickly grabbed He Jingsu’s hand. She didn’t want He Jingsu to get too close to Bei Yan. Daidai was too innocent. She was worried that Bei Yan would use her innocence to trick her.
He Jingsu wrinkled her nose, cupped Bei Queting’s face, and rubbed it, muttering, “Then don’t be unhappy. Beibei is prettiest when she smiles.”
Bei Queting suddenly felt her nose sting. In all the years since she had been brought back by He Jingsu, it was as if she had been in a dream, being cherished and loved.
A smile slowly appeared on her lips. She looked up at He Jingsu, her eyes full of a soft light, and promised her that she would smile more in the future.
Seeing that Beibei had promised her and was smiling so beautifully, He Jingsu was instantly happy. She lowered her head and gave Bei Queting a kiss on the lips.
The other people in the classroom were already a little numb to this. In the whole school, probably only the two of them dared to have puppy love, and so openly, without any shame!
They had kissed last break, and now they were kissing again! They just couldn’t get enough of kissing!
Bei Yan saw their interaction, her gaze falling on He Jingsu’s soft little face, a thoughtful look in her eyes. So Bei Queting liked this type?
“What’s that student’s name? Which class is she in?” Bei Yan asked her deskmate.
The deskmate glanced at her and, considering her earlier interaction with Bei Queting, kindly reminded her, “That student’s name is He Jingsu, from class 16. You’d better not think about breaking them up. Their relationship is very good. If you dare to break them up, the consequences…”
She didn’t finish, but the meaning was already very clear.
Bei Yan looked at He Jingsu, but she was a little dismissive. What could she do to her?
