Chapter 50: Encounter
=====================
At night, this time it wasn’t He Jingsu who went to Bei Queting’s bed. Instead, Bei Queting teleported to He Jingsu’s bed first and held the small panda cub in her arms.
“Beibei?” She had appeared so suddenly that He Jingsu was stunned for a moment. Her tuft of fur twitched, and she called out a little strangely.
She couldn’t understand why Beibei had come over here.
“Mhm,” Bei Queting replied and then fell silent for a moment. She held He Jingsu in her arms, soft and fluffy like a cloud, and buried her face in her belly, inhaling the milky scent of green bamboo. She felt her anxious heart finally begin to calm down.
Bei Yan’s words today had affected her after all. She didn’t know what Bei Yan wanted to do, but as long as it was related to her, Bei Queting felt that it was definitely not a good thing.
And from her expression, Bei Queting was very suspicious that she wanted to do something to Daidai.
Could it be that she wanted to snatch her Daidai, just like she had snatched her things countless times before?
Bei Queting’s whole body tensed, and her arms around He Jingsu grew tighter and tighter.
“Mmm, Beibei~” He Jingsu called out to her.
Bei Queting was suddenly startled and loosened her grip. She ruffled the fur of the cub in her arms and apologized in a panic, “I’m sorry, Daidai. I didn’t mean to.”
With that, she rubbed her all over, as if to help her relieve the pain.
“Beibei.” He Jingsu didn’t blame her at all. She held one of Bei Queting’s arms, her dark, shiny eyes fixed on her, her tone a little sullen.
“Beibei is not happy, but Beibei is not willing to tell me.”
Her head drooped, and the tuft of fur on her head also wilted, looking incredibly dejected.
Seeing her like this, Bei Queting’s heart ached. Her arm was held in her arms, and she could feel the fluffy, warm feeling from her body. She was showing her softest belly to her, giving her the most sincere treatment.
She had made her dejected.
She had made her unhappy.
This realization made Bei Queting feel even more upset. She had never wanted Daidai to be unhappy. She wanted her Daidai to be carefree and happy forever, but she had made her sad.
Bei Queting lowered her head and gave the cub a kiss on the forehead, then nuzzled her face against hers, murmuring, “Daidai, it’s not that I don’t want to tell you, but I don’t know how to tell you.”
Ever since she had been brought back by Daidai’s family, they had never asked about her past. Perhaps they had guessed that her past situation was not good, so they hadn’t asked, not wanting her to recall the past.
They didn’t ask, and she didn’t want to recall. Gradually, even if she wanted to say it, she didn’t know how to start.
He Jingsu transformed into her human form and held Bei Queting in her arms, gently patting her back. “If you don’t know how to say it, then don’t say it. I don’t want Beibei to be unhappy,” she said in a small voice.
Being held by her, her young body was like a vast sea that enveloped her. While Bei Queting felt an infinite sense of security, she also felt guilty for not having told her her whole past.
“Daidai, I’m an orphan, an unwanted orphan,” Bei Queting’s eyes were sore, and she forced out the words, holding back a sob.
Recalling her past experiences now, she still felt a bone-chilling cold. She didn’t know what she had done wrong. She had clearly done nothing, but why did she have to endure that endless malice?
He Jingsu blinked, her arms around Bei Queting tightening. “Mhm, mhm, I guessed it too! Otherwise, when I secretly brought you home back then, if you weren’t an orphan, your mom would have beaten me to death!” she said in a small voice.
She, Daidai, was still very self-aware! Otherwise, how could she not be beaten for bringing someone else’s little cub home!
Hearing He Jingsu’s words, Bei Queting was suddenly amused by her. She looked up at He Jingsu’s soft jawline, leaned over, and gave her a light kiss, murmuring, “Daidai, I really like you.”
I like you so much. Even just these words make my heart feel as if it’s filled with sugar, so sweet.
“I super like you too!” He Jingsu’s eyebrows curved into a smile. She lowered her head and gave Bei Queting a kiss on the lips.
Bei Queting pressed her lips together and let out a low laugh. “Daidai, even if my parents were still around, I don’t think they would have stopped you from taking me away.”
“You’re so good.”
Her Daidai was really good, so good that everyone must like her.
He Jingsu pressed her lips together and smiled sweetly. “Mhm, mhm! They definitely wouldn’t have stopped me!”
Looking at He Jingsu’s happy smile, Bei Queting reached out and stroked it, her voice a little light. “But before I had even hatched, my mother committed suicide.”
She was about to hatch, but she had still abandoned her, abandoned her father.
He Jingsu was instantly stunned, looking at Bei Queting in a daze.
Bei Queting’s tone was a little calm as she continued, “After my mother left, my father couldn’t accept it and followed her.”
Her hatching had been interrupted. In the end, she was taken back by her father’s friend. Although she eventually hatched, it had also led to her being congenitally deficient, her body much weaker than other demons.
And it was only in these years, under Madam He Yuan’s careful care, that her body had been able to become no worse than others.
After hearing Bei Queting’s words, He Jingsu was completely stunned. Looking at Bei Queting’s calm face, her eyes suddenly reddened.
She really wanted to cry.
Beibei had never even seen her parents.
Seeing He Jingsu’s suddenly red eyes, Bei Queting quickly rubbed them for her and comforted her softly, “Daidai, I just wanted you to know some of my past. I didn’t want you to cry. Don’t cry, okay? I like it when you smile the most.”
He Jingsu sniffled, her voice a little muffled. “What happened to them? Did a bad demon bully them? Let’s go back and tell Mom and Mommy, and let them go and beat up that bad demon. Mommy and the others are super amazing!”
Bei Queting pressed her lips together, the smile on her face a little forced. She recalled the truths she had once known. How could she say them? How could she tell Daidai those dark and ugly things? She only wanted Daidai to see the sunny side of things.
“Daidai, I’m a little sleepy. Can you hold me to sleep?” Bei Queting said in a small voice, not wanting to mention the past anymore.
Hearing her words, He Jingsu quickly held her in her arms and lay down, gently patting her shoulder and back, and coaxing in a small voice, “Beibei, sleep. I will always, always be with you.”
Thinking of Beibei saying she was abandoned, He Jingsu felt so sad. It was sour and stuffy, and there was a sudden pain.
She sniffled and held Bei Queting tighter. She would always, always be with her. She would never abandon Beibei!
Hearing He Jingsu’s words, Bei Queting’s eyebrows relaxed a little. She nuzzled in Daidai’s arms and found a comfortable spot to close her eyes.
He Jingsu held Bei Queting, her heart wanting to protect her for a lifetime. Beibei was her girlfriend. She had to be good to her and protect her from being bullied by others!
In the middle of holding Beibei to sleep, He Jingsu suddenly sensed something and poked her head out from behind the bed curtain.
Then, she met a pair of bewildered eyes.
He Jingsu: “!”
Hai Yuesheng: “!”
Qiu Si: “…”
Hai Yuesheng’s eyes instantly widened. She suddenly let out a cry and jumped onto Qiu Si’s bed, so fast that she almost left an afterimage.
He Jingsu blinked.
Qiu Si was speechless.
Her face changed, and her originally soft little face began to show a hint of gritted teeth.
“Hai, Yue, Sheng!”
Hai Yuesheng, who had jumped onto Qiu Si’s bed in a panic, immediately jumped down again, her eyes on her nose, her nose on her heart, as if nothing had happened.
He Jingsu looked at her, then at Qiu Si, a hint of confusion in her eyes. So the senior would teleport over to find Si Si in the middle of the night?
“Hm? Daidai?” Bei Queting’s slightly soft and sleepy voice came.
Without He Jingsu’s embrace, Bei Queting quickly woke up. Seeing her poke her head out, she also poked her head out, wanting to see what had happened.
Hai Yuesheng was speechless. What was going on today!
Bei Queting saw Hai Yuesheng standing on the ground and also blinked slightly, then understood. She said, very understandingly, “I’ll take Daidai to my place now. I won’t disturb you.”
With that, she took He Jingsu’s hand and teleported, disappearing from the dorm.
The remaining two demons were speechless.
They looked at each other, and a hint of shyness appeared in Qiu Si’s eyes. She shot a glare at Hai Yuesheng.
Hai Yuesheng immediately moved to Qiu Si’s bed with a fawning look, her hands on the railing of the bed. She also said, a little wronged, “Daidai usually goes to Little Ting’s to sleep. I didn’t know she would suddenly have the idea to sleep here today.”
How did she know she would be so unlucky? To run into the two of them at once, and to be caught at once.
Qiu Si was speechless. She had sensed the spiritual energy fluctuation, but she didn’t know that Hai Yuesheng would come tonight!
Her face began to heat up. She felt that when she faced Daidai and the others tomorrow, she would feel a little ashamed.
So embarrassing!
On the other side, Bei Queting looked at the still-dazed Daidai and couldn’t help but let out a low laugh. She ruffled her little face and said, “Don’t think about it. Let’s sleep.”
He Jingsu suddenly said in a small voice, “Are Si Si and the others also having puppy love? Should I tell Si Si not to sleep naked with them so early?”
Si Si was a few months younger than her!
Bei Queting blinked. After hearing her words, she was also a little silent. In the end, under her slightly worried little gaze, she still nodded and said, “Then, then I’ll tell Si Si tomorrow.”
Bei Queting could actually see that they probably weren’t together yet. And even if they were, Hai Yuesheng probably wouldn’t dare to do anything. Otherwise, she would be in for a world of hurt from Jing Shiyue.
Hearing Bei Queting’s words, He Jingsu was relieved. She held Bei Queting again and lay down, letting her rest in her arms to sleep, and coaxed in a small voice, “Hurry up and sleep. Otherwise, you won’t be able to get up tomorrow!”
Bei Queting, buried in He Jingsu’s arms, smiled secretly. Did Daidai think everyone was like her, a difficult riser every day?
Although she thought so, she still obediently replied.
However, the next day, Bei Queting was sure of what Bei Yan wanted to do.

Author’s Note:
The next day, Beibei walked up to Si Si, a little shyly.
“S-Si Si, n-now you and the senior, y-you’d better not sleep, sleep naked.” She stuttered, her face red before she had even finished.
Si Si: “…?”
Si Si: “!”
She understood!
