008 Bathing
Seeing a bashful expression on a giant python’s face was, in fact… very strange.
Yu Chujin suppressed the bizarre feeling in her heart and stopped looking at it. She picked up a coconut and continued to eat it miserably.
She glanced at the remaining nectarines on the side, thought for a moment, and picked them up. Eating the nectarines dry was too sour. Perhaps she could mash them up and mix them into the coconut water to drink.
With that thought, Yu Chujin did just that. Soon, she had a cup of nectarine coconut water. It was sour and sweet, adding a bit of flavor to the bland coconut.
Perhaps she should give this concoction a name. Following the current trend of naming milk teas, she’d call it “Necta-Coco.”
“Necta-Coco, not bad, hahaha,” Yu Chujin found joy in her suffering.
Suddenly, something lightly poked her back.
Yu Chujin didn’t react, just glanced indifferently at the large snake beside her.
Yu Chujin drank her Necta-Coco, ignoring the large snake, but the large snake was persistent.
Who knows what was suddenly wrong with this large snake. It kept poking her with its tail. It would poke her back and quickly retract, poke her shoulder and quickly retract, poke her leg and quickly retract.
“What are you doing? What do you want? Why do you keep poking me with your tail? Is it just because I touched your tail earlier? Do you have to touch me back? I touch you once, and you have to touch me back ten times?”
Yu Chujin chattered on. The large snake blinked its large, round eyes, tilted its head, and listened with great concentration.
Anyone who didn’t know would think it understood.
“Forget it, forget it. You wouldn’t understand even if I told you. Put your tail away. Stop pawing at me.”
Yu Chujin pointed at its tail, using body language to express her meaning.
The large snake became coy again, hiding its tail, coiling it into a ball, and furtively peeking at her.
Yu Chujin chuckled. This snake was very silly, looking blank and foolish.
She offered the prepared nectarine coconut water to the large snake, “Here, you try it too. The sour and sweet flavors blend together, and it tastes pretty good.”
In reality, the taste was far from “pretty good.” It was just finding joy in suffering.
The moment the nectarine coconut water was offered, the large snake swallowed it in one gulp, not even giving her time to react. And once again, it took half of Yu Chujin’s arm into its mouth.
Yu Chujin: “…”
I must remember next time. I absolutely cannot feed it by hand again.
“Have I told you to be gentler when you eat?” Yu Chujin pulled her hand out of its large mouth. “Look at you, you got saliva all over my hand again. Aren’t you dirty?”
Yu Chujin ran to the seaside to wash the snake’s saliva off her arm.
The large snake followed her step by step.
She washed her hands, and the large snake played in the water with its tail.
The originally clear seawater was stirred up by its large tail, sending mud and sand rolling.
Yu Chujin clicked her tongue in dissatisfaction.
The large snake stopped moving, “Hiss hiss.”
Yu Chujin said helplessly, “All you do is hiss. Stop playing in the water. You’ve made it all muddy.”
The large snake stopped stirring the water and instead coiled its tail around some water. Before it could make its next move, Yu Chujin immediately became alert and warned, “Don’t you dare splash water on me!”
The large snake blinked and then reluctantly lowered its tail.
It wanted to splash water on me again. It’s either splashing sand or water on me. So boring, she grumbled inwardly.
Yu Chujin looked up at the sky. It was getting dark. Another day had passed. This was already her third day trapped on the deserted island, and there was still no hope of rescue.
As the sun set, feelings of anxiety and frustration welled up.
However, the next second, with a splash.
Water was poured on her head.
It was self-evident who had done it.
The anxiety and frustration that had just welled up were instantly extinguished, leaving only anger and gritted teeth.
Just as Yu Chujin was about to demand an explanation, the large snake ran away after splashing the water. It clearly knew that doing so would make people angry, but it still did it. It was purely being mischievous, a childish snake.
Of course, Yu Chujin wasn’t much more mature. She picked up a coconut shell from the ground, scooped up some water, and ran over, pouring it on the large snake.
The large snake was drenched with a scoop of water. It was stunned for a moment, then its eyes lit up, and it became excited.
Yu Chujin had a bad feeling.
Sure enough, the large snake’s tail once again coiled around some water and splashed it on her, from head to toe.
Yu Chujin didn’t back down. She continued to fight back with the coconut shell.
Back and forth, they childishly started a water fight.
“Stop splashing! You’re cheating by using your tail, you know? You have to use a coconut shell too. Don’t you have claws? Use your claws. Haha, you’re really using your claws! Look at how silly you are, hahaha…”
Yu Chujin’s shoulders shook with laughter.
After being trapped for so many days, this was the first time she had laughed so heartily.
These few days had been too tense. It was rare to relax for a little while.
Tired from the water fight, Yu Chujin tossed the coconut shell aside and lay down on the ground, sprawled out.
After the hearty laughter, another wave of melancholy washed over her.
After three days of eating only coconuts and some sour nectarines, her stamina was completely gone. The slightest activity left her exhausted.
The large snake pushed her with its tail.
Yu Chujin slapped its tail hard, “Go, go, go. I don’t have the energy to play with you all the time.”
The tail was suddenly slapped, and the large snake shot back as if startled, coiling its tail and hiding it.
Yu Chujin lay on the ground with her hands behind her head, looking at it sideways, and teased, “You don’t let people touch your tail, but you keep pawing at me with it. Isn’t that a contradiction?”
Of course, the large snake didn’t know what a contradiction was. After a short while, it pushed her with its tail again.
Yu Chujin looked at the silly large snake. She seemed to be quite lucky. She hadn’t died in the paragliding accident, and even though she was stranded on a deserted island, she had a large snake for company, so she wasn’t too lonely.
How could this not be considered a silver lining in a series of misfortunes?
After the water fight, her whole body was wet and sticky, which was very uncomfortable. While the temperature hadn’t dropped yet, she planned to take a bath.
She sat up, first taking off her windbreaker and hanging it on a dead tree to dry. Then she continued to take off her white T-shirt underneath.
She placed her hands on the hem of her T-shirt and was about to pull it up. Halfway through, she put her hands down and looked back.
The large snake was staring at her intently, its curious eyes blinking.
Yu Chujin: “Although you’re just a snake, you should understand the principle of ‘do not look at what is improper’.”
The large snake: “Hiss hiss.”
Great, it was staring even more intently, even more unblinkingly.
Yu Chujin pouted uncomfortably, but then thought it didn’t matter. Was she afraid of being looked at by a snake? It was just a snake.
After coming to terms with it, she took off her T-shirt and tossed it aside.
The large snake looked at the clothes on the ground, then at the naked two-legged creature. Its expression froze, and its pale green eyes widened.
Its eyes darted wildly between the clothes and the person, filled with shock, its pupils practically quaking.
Yu Chujin understood its shock and explained casually with a smile, “That’s not my skin, it’s just clothes. Humans need to wear clothes. Do you think I shed my skin like you? Silly snake.”
Although there was no one around, only a silly snake, it was still outdoors. Being completely naked carried a certain psychological burden. It would be awkward if someone suddenly appeared.
But on second thought, in this situation, if someone really did appear, it wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Someone meant she was saved. But unfortunately, there wasn’t a single soul to be seen on the island.
She shook her head, no longer thinking about these annoying things.
She waded into the sea barefoot. The sand was warm, and the seawater, under the scorching sun, was also warm. It was just the right temperature, not too cold and not too hot.
The only drawback was perhaps the lack of shower gel. Just washing with water felt like it wasn’t clean enough, but under the current conditions, she couldn’t be picky.
She stopped when the water reached her waist. Although she could swim, she wasn’t good at it. To avoid any accidents, she tried to stay out of deep water.
She let down her tied-up hair. She had to wash her hair as well. Although there was no shampoo, washing it was still more comfortable than not washing it.
In the sea, one person was busy bathing and washing her hair.
On the shore, one snake was busy tilting its head left and right.
It was probably still wondering why the two-legged creature shed its skin so quickly. After all, it took a snake at least one to two days to shed its skin. How could it be pulled off in an instant?
The large snake kept staring. Although it was just a snake, being stared at while completely naked was still a bit uncomfortable.
Yu Chujin turned around, her back to it.
Just then, an unusual ripple appeared on the surface of the sea, as if something was slowly approaching.
