T/N:
I made some edits to the previous chapters. They’re so minor that even if you’ve already read them, you probably won’t notice.
8:
Xiao Yun fell into Yan Chao’s arms. Feeling her scorching body temperature again, she couldn’t help but tremble. The hands resting on her shoulders hesitated for a moment, not pushing her away.
“Why did you lie to me, you bad woman?”
Yan Chao said pitifully, then naturally buried her face in the crook of Xiao Yun’s neck, unconsciously nuzzling her.
Greed stirred in her heart again. She wanted to eat the sweet-smelling mermaid.
Can I eat her?
Yan Chao lifted her head from her shoulder and stared at her with burning eyes. Her hand caressed the scar on her waist, her heart filled with restlessness.
“What are you trying to do?”
Xiao Yun glanced down at the hand on her waist, then looked up at her, her blue-green pupils dark and lusterless.
“I want to… kiss you.”
Yan Chao didn’t dare say she wanted to eat her, so she settled for second best, secretly hoping she would agree. They already had a deeply intimate relationship. Just a kiss should be fine, right?
With that thought, she puckered her lips and leaned in, only to receive a loving “caress.”
Smack. A crisp sound broke the silence in the room. Yan Chao’s face stung. It hurt, but there was also a familiar sense of reassurance.
“Why did you hit me?”
She clutched her face, looking at Xiao Yun with a mix of cowardice and fierceness.
Xiao Yun broke free from her hands, transformed her legs, and stood up, looking down at her with a cold aura.
“Weren’t you the one who called me a heartless slag and said you never wanted to see me again?”

“Weren’t you going to find an obedient, well-behaved fish who’s a hundred times prettier than me?”
Yan Chao: meekly
“Didn’t you say…”
“Alright, stop it!” Yan Chao interrupted her loudly. Seeing her cold, sharp gaze, she lowered her head again. “I’m sorry, I was wrong. I was delirious during the day and spouted nonsense. Don’t take it to heart.”
“Hah!” Xiao Yun sneered mockingly.
Yan Chao threw her arms around her waist in a small fit of rage.
“Then why did you abandon me? Do you know how sad I was when I came out of the shower yesterday and you were gone? When you’re not feeling well, you let me kiss and hug you, but when I’m not feeling well, you just leave me. If that’s not a bad woman, what is?”
Xiao Yun leaned down slightly, her phoenix eyes narrowing, the corners lifting. Although she seemed to be smiling, she gave off a cold feeling.
“Go on.”
Yan Chao really didn’t dare. She hugged Xiao Yun tightly, her face pressed against the scar on her hipbone, and gave it a light lick.
The next second, a shark went flying.
Xiao Yun clutched the scar in panic and anger. After a long moment, she said, “What are you doing?!”
Yan Chao wanted to ask her what she was doing. She just touched it a little. Was such a big reaction necessary? Was this some kind of untouchable weak spot?
Yan Chao’s gaze fell on that spot. Although Xiao Yun was covering the scar, she could see her fingers trembling.
It seemed she had guessed right.
So Yan Chao started apologizing again. Xiao Yun gave her a deep look, then turned to leave. Yan Chao immediately pounced, hugging her leg, clinging to her shamelessly.
“Don’t go. I won’t touch you randomly anymore. I only said those things because I was emotional. I’ll never say them again. Forgive me this once, okay?”
Xiao Yun took a deep breath, trying to suppress the agitation in her heart. She turned her head slightly to look at her out of the corner of her eye.
“You don’t have to go to such lengths. Whether you’re looking for someone obedient or beautiful, it has nothing to do with me.”
“I’m not looking for anyone. I only want you.”
Yan Chao quickly pledged her loyalty, but Xiao Yun wasn’t buying it.
Another kick to the chest. Yan Chao’s chest ached, but her hands still held tightly to her leg, squirming on the floor as she moved.
It was a good thing the floor was smooth, or she would have scraped off a layer of skin.
Xiao Yun didn’t want to bother with her, but she was just too heavy. Such a large creature hanging on her, she was tired after just a few steps.
“Let go, or I’ll break your claws.”
“They’re not claws, they’re fins,” Yan Chao said weakly.
Xiao Yun: …
Seeing the impatient look in her eyes, Yan Chao quickly said, “They’re claws. Why are these bad claws stuck to you? Why don’t you stay for a bit, and we can find out the reason together?”
Xiao Yun let out a long breath, as if trying to convince herself.
Yan Chao leaped up from the floor and grabbed her hand, refusing to let go. Xiao Yun was speechless at her shamelessness and couldn’t even be bothered to look at her.
A sea breeze blew in from the window, and the air in the room began to circulate. After inhaling the fragrance, Yan Chao’s body suddenly went limp, and she fell against Xiao Yun.
In a daze, she felt a cold, sharp gaze and pictured Xiao Yun’s exasperated face. She couldn’t help but laugh.
A cold-faced fish is pretty cute too.
Yan Chao tried to move. Her limbs were too weak to stand, and she could only rely on Xiao Yun’s strength to stay upright.
“I didn’t do it on purpose, really.”
Of course, Xiao Yun knew. She could smell the rich scent, and coupled with her scorching body temperature, the situation was self-evident.
But what did that have to do with her?
This damn shark had already thought about finding someone else. Why should she be a tool for her to use?
“Why do you smell so good?”
Yan Chao was becoming delirious, constantly rubbing her face against her, her hands gripping and kneading her waist, as if she had a belly full of fire with nowhere to vent.
“So fragrant, Xiao Yun, so fragrant.”
Xiao Yun brushed her hands away. They didn’t stay still for two seconds before they were back, even more audacious than before.
“Xiao Yun, A-Yun… let me hold you.”
Weren’t they already hugging? Xiao Yun turned to look at her, only to have her neck cupped and her lips captured. The lips that touched hers were scorching hot, making her heart tremble.
The hands that were pushing her away lost their strength, looking more like a half-hearted refusal.
Yan Chao wasn’t completely unconscious. Sensing that Xiao Yun wasn’t resisting, she grew bolder.
Xiao Yun was lifted up by the shark who, just moments ago, had been too weak to stand and had to lean on her.
Yan Chao rested her face against her heart and looked up at her with dark pupils. The light cast halos in her eyes. As Xiao Yun watched, she felt herself growing dizzy too.
The mattress was thick. The weight of two people falling on it made it bounce, bringing them closer.
Yan Chao effortlessly kissed Xiao Yun, then buried her face in her shoulder and didn’t move.
Xiao Yun knew her heat hadn’t subsided. In fact, it had intensified because of their proximity. But she hadn’t expected this perverted shark to suddenly stop.
Just a moment ago, she was so impatient, as if she wanted to eat her. Why was she so quiet now?
“Hey, what’s wrong with you?”
“I feel a little sick. Can you let me lean on you for a bit?”
I know you feel sick, so why not use the most effective method? Xiao Yun’s eyes flickered. Her hands, hanging at her sides, hesitantly rested on her waist.
Yan Chao trembled and said in a hoarse voice, “Don’t… don’t touch me.”
“It’s fine for you to hug, kiss, and bite me, but I can’t even touch you?”
Yan Chao looked up at her, her eyes red, her breathing ragged, like a cornered, crazed beast. And the mermaid before her was the prey she had her eyes on.
Xiao Yun’s heart pounded at the sight, and she felt a strange excitement.
“It’s not that. I’m just afraid I won’t be able to hold back,” Yan Chao said in a low voice, a hint of grievance in it.
Xiao Yun smiled. Her fingers gently caressed her neck, from her shoulder to the nape. Every place she touched elicited a slight shiver from her.
“Then why are you holding back?”
Yan Chao was stumped. After a few seconds of daze, she said, “Don’t you dislike it? I don’t want you to hate me.”
Her words were nice, and her expression didn’t look fake. If she could still deceive herself at this point, then all she could say was that her acting skills were superb, and she was no match for her.
So Xiao Yun thought.
The two looked at each other, and time seemed to stand still.
Yan Chao thought about her words. A flash of inspiration struck her slow mind. She slowly lowered her head to kiss her. Xiao Yun didn’t dodge.
She kissed those red lips as she had wished.
So soft, so springy, as sweet as a small cake.
Their lips and tongues tangled, their breaths mingled. The temperature in the room rose, sticky and humid, as if they were enveloped by the sea breeze.
As the kiss deepened, the restlessness in Yan Chao’s body reached its peak. She couldn’t control it anymore.
With a whoosh, her legs turned into a fishtail, wrapping around Xiao Yun’s slender, pale legs, rubbing against her with the tip of her tail.
Xiao Yun didn’t understand why she was doing this, but with the constant rubbing, scales appeared on her legs. They shimmered under the light, so brilliant they were blinding.
“So beautiful. Xiao Yun, you’re so beautiful.”
Yan Chao murmured, her hand brushing against the scar on her tail, a trace of heartache in her crimson eyes.
“That damn orca. I’ll put poison in his tank tomorrow. It must have hurt a lot. Does it still hurt now?”
Xiao Yun didn’t know how to answer. After all, during those painful days, Yan Chao was by her side. If it weren’t for her, the wound wouldn’t have healed so quickly. She might have even died.
“How long are you going to talk nonsense?” Xiao Yun whispered in her ear.
The gentle voice fell into her ear like a feather tickling her heart. A tingling itch spread from the bottom of her heart. Her limbs felt numb and tingly, and her body temperature soared.
“Is it really okay? You’re not allowed to hit me tomorrow.”
Perhaps it was just the atmosphere, or maybe she wanted to repay her for last time. In any case, Xiao Yun had agreed, but she couldn’t proceed without a clear conscience. But getting her to be willing was probably harder than climbing to the sky. After all, she could never be willing.
Xiao Yun’s patience had run out. “If you’re not going to do it, then forget it. Get off, I’m going back!” she said angrily.
“Back where?” Yan Chao bit her chin, her eyes burning as she looked at her.
“Back to the sea, of course.”
“Can you not go back? I want you to stay with me.” Yan Chao ground her teeth, her voice even hoarser. “Think of this as your home. Live with me from now on. I’ll take care of you.”
Xiao Yun remembered what she had heard that night and retorted, “You’ll take care of me? Don’t you not even have enough money for food? What will you use to take care of me?”
Her predicament exposed, Yan Chao was a little embarrassed. She simply kissed Xiao Yun’s lips, stopping her from stabbing her heart any further.
This time, Xiao Yun was not indifferent. She opened her mouth to accept her, letting their hearts grow closer.
As their lips and tongues tangled once more, Yan Chao had a different feeling. She felt that the person in her arms no longer rejected her, and she could hear the heartbeat coming from across her chest.
Yan Chao’s brain was deprived of oxygen, and she almost fainted. Her mind was muddled and chaotic, devoid of all thought. The only thought was to eat her.
Such a beautiful mermaid was hers. Just thinking about it made her so excited that her blood seemed to boil.
“I’ll work harder from now on. Can you give me a chance?”
“Don’t talk about that. Do what you’re supposed to do.”
Xiao Yun pressed her head down. As her shoulder was bitten, she let out a soft hum and closed her eyes. Her chin was slightly raised, and her raven-wing lashes fluttered, showing her arousal.
Yan Chao was dizzy, and everything in front of her was shaking. Her teeth became sharp, and just grazing the skin drew blood. She licked away the bloodstains, then exchanged another kiss with Xiao Yun. Her mouth was full of the taste of blood, which only stimulated their emotions.
Her fishtail was still wrapped around her legs. Xiao Yun couldn’t hold back anymore and took the initiative to cling to Yan Chao’s neck, looking at her with seductive eyes.
“How long are you going to kiss?”
