The abilities granted through faith in the Bloody Red Moon are death and curses.
As a Mid-Rank Apostle, Aaron had naturally received three abilities from the Bloody Red Moon. Apart from Soul Wither and Life Drain, two death-based abilities, he also possessed a curse ability.
Now, with his life fading, Aaron gritted his teeth and focused all his remaining power into his curse, his eyes locking onto Eileen with deadly intensity.
Even under such a gaze, Eileen felt a deep sense of unease. Gripping her sword, she wrenched it from Aaron’s waist. With another swift motion, the blood-stained blade swept across Aaron’s neck.
Under the night sky, a head went flying into the darkness.
Amelia rushed over from the shadows, producing the Corpse-Dissolving Fluid she had prepared in advance to melt Aaron’s body.
“The Red Moon Society’s people in Bild City are finished. As for the members in other cities, they shouldn’t know what happened here. We can finally rest easy… Hm? Eileen, what’s wrong with you?”
As she spoke, Amelia noticed something was clearly off with Eileen.
Eileen’s body swayed unsteadily, as if she was enduring some kind of torment. Worry filled Amelia’s heart. She abandoned the task of melting the corpse and rushed to Eileen’s side to support her.
“Eileen, what… mmph—”
The moment Amelia caught hold of Eileen, the latter suddenly surged with strength, tackling Amelia to the ground and pinning her hands firmly against the earth.
With the power of a Mid-Rank Apostle, Eileen’s actions left Amelia utterly helpless to resist.
“Ei… Eileen, what are you…”
The sudden situation made Amelia’s eyes widen in shock.
She could feel Eileen’s body pressing tightly against hers. The maid’s right knee seemed to be climbing up her own leg, from calf to knee, from knee to thigh…
[If I’m not mistaken, this must be the Demon of Lust Curse, right?]
[I’m pretty sure this curse showed up in the original plot too. Even though Eileen never got hit by it back then, it seems to fill the victim’s mind with nothing but lust, doesn’t it?]
[I just checked the wiki, and yeah, that’s exactly what the Demon of Lust Curse does.]
[So, in other words, are we about to witness something… delightful?]
[Where’s my tissue? I gotta get ready for this.]
[Can’t believe the first time might happen out in the wilderness like this. The setting’s not great, but… out in the wild? Actually, when you think about it, doesn’t that add a certain thrill?]
[Amelia, you’re about to get… hehehe.]
Amelia had absolutely no idea what Eileen was doing until these floating bullet comments drifted past her vision. Then, it all clicked into place.
Demon of Lust Curse?
That must have been the curse Aaron cast on Eileen right before he died.
“How do we break this curse?” Amelia couldn’t help but shout.
Aside from shouting, there was nothing else she could do. Both her hands and feet were pinned down completely. The only reason she could still speak was because of the mask she wore. If the mask hadn’t been shielding her face, she probably wouldn’t have been able to say a word at all. Eileen kept nudging against her mask, the two masks scraping and rubbing against each other.
[Break it? Obviously, you just have to help her take care of it with your delicate body, hehe.]
[Actually, you need a Holy Spirit Potion to cure this kind of curse, right?]
[Holy Spirit Potion? I remember that’s something from the Church of Heaven. They don’t just hand that stuff out.]
The viewers sent another wave of comments flying across the screen.
Reading the comments, Amelia quickly pieced together the facts about the Holy Spirit Potion. It was a special potion created within the Church of Heaven, made by those who had Faith in Pure White Wings. Using their Light-based abilities, they crafted a potion capable of dispelling curses.
The Church of Heaven was the sole orthodox church on the Angus Continent, its influence stretching across every corner of human society. In the great kingdoms and ducal states of the North, the Church’s shadow naturally fell as well.
Bild City itself had a Church of Heaven outpost, and it was highly likely they would have Holy Spirit Potion in stock.
But there were two problems.
First, the Church of Heaven wouldn’t simply hand over Holy Spirit Potion to just anyone. Moreover, to counter a curse cast by a Mid-Rank Apostle, they would need a potion of exceptionally high purity.
If they went to the Bild City Church to ask for Holy Spirit Potion, the Church would certainly grow suspicious. Why would someone whose public identity was just an ordinary maid be cursed by a Mid-Rank Apostle? This would risk exposing her true identity.
As for the second problem – even if there was a Holy Spirit Potion that could cleanse the curse, it was a case of “distant water cannot quench a present thirst.”
“Eileen, calm down. I believe your willpower is strong enough to resist the curse,” Amelia said cautiously.
There was no way she was going to let Eileen do… that… to her in front of so many viewers. Even if a Holy Light censor bar would probably block the screen, she still felt like it would be an utter social death sentence. It was absolutely unacceptable.
However, Amelia’s words seemed to have no effect on Eileen whatsoever.
The maid nuzzled against Amelia’s face. After being blocked by the mask time and time again, she finally realized she needed to remove it first.
Eileen grabbed Amelia’s wrists and pulled them upward, pinning them above Amelia’s head. Holding both of Amelia’s hands in place with just one of her own, she used her other hand to try and pull off the mask.
Amelia struggled frantically, but even with just one hand, Eileen possessed an irresistible strength. There was no breaking free.
Under these circumstances, Amelia’s mask was finally peeled away.
Her fair, delicate face was slightly flushed from the exertion, her rosy complexion so tempting one might want to take a bite. Her watery-blue eyes glistened brightly, tinged with a trace of panic. Her long, slightly wavy hair, dyed the same aqua shade, clung to her skin.
Staring at this face, Eileen’s movements froze momentarily.
This was Her Majesty!
This was her sovereign!
What in the world was she doing?!
“Your… Your Majesty!”
Eileen forced the words out through gritted teeth.
Hearing Eileen’s voice, Amelia’s face lit up with joy. “Eileen? Are you back to normal?”
Eileen didn’t answer.
She hadn’t recovered at all. A violent desire was surging from the deepest depths of her heart, a bizarre impulse that made her ache to have her way with the girl before her.
But the last shred of her sanity struggled to hold her back.
This was the sovereign she had sworn to protect. How could she ever do such a thing?
Clenching her jaw, Eileen forced her body upright. She staggered backward several steps until her back slammed against a tree trunk, where she stood, breathing heavily.
Seeing this, Amelia breathed a sigh of relief. She stood up and looked at Eileen, asking, “Eileen, can you hold it together?”
