Chapter 65: The Maid Who Couldn’t Control Herself

Hearing Amelia’s question, Eileen replied with great difficulty, “I… I’ll try my best.”

“As long as you can control yourself, that’s enough. We’ll figure out how to lift your curse later. For now, let’s finish dealing with the body and head back.”

Amelia quickly recovered from the previous ordeal. Taking out the Corpse-Dissolving Fluid, she resumed the task of melting Aaron’s corpse.

After a moment of silence, Eileen asked, “Your… Miss Lily, aren’t you going to blame me for my actions?”

Amelia smoothed down her long hair and said, “What are you talking about? Why would I blame you? It’s not like you wanted this to happen. It was all just an accident.”

As she spoke, Amelia finished dissolving Aaron’s body.

Putting away the Corpse-Dissolving Fluid, Amelia turned to Eileen. “Eileen, we should head back now.”

Eileen hesitated before speaking. “Understood, but… Miss Lily, please keep your distance from me.”

The moment Amelia got close, Eileen could feel a powerful impulse surging within her—an impulse to push Amelia down. She didn’t dare get near her.

“I understand. Then let’s head back keeping some distance between us.” Amelia nodded.

[That’s it? It’s over?]

[Dammit, I thought we were about to see some action! Guess not.]

[All that tissue, prepped for nothing.]

[It’s just that nothing’s happened yet. Eileen’s still cursed, and they don’t have a way to break it. Some things… well, what’s bound to happen will happen.]

Not long after, Amelia and Eileen made it back into the walls of Bild City.

Throughout the journey, both of them remained extremely cautious.

The problem was that after being cursed, Eileen wouldn’t just react negatively to Amelia alone. She could react the same way to anyone else. Getting too close to another person would spell huge trouble.

And so, Amelia walked ahead, carefully scouting the path for Eileen. She would only signal Eileen forward once she confirmed a location was empty of people.

This weighed heavily on Eileen’s heart.

She was supposed to be Amelia’s guard. She was supposed to be the one protecting her. Yet tonight, it was she who needed Amelia’s protection. This was a complete dereliction of her duty!

And even worse, this failure of her responsibility wouldn’t end with just tonight. It would likely continue. Thinking about this, Eileen felt a wave of uncertainty wash over her about the future.

No matter what, however, the two of them ultimately made it back to their residence without a hitch.

Once inside the house, Amelia removed her hood and asked Eileen, “Eileen, will you still be sleeping with me tonight?”

“No, no, no. I’ll sleep in the room next to Miss Lily’s,” Eileen quickly said, shaking her head.

Under the influence of this curse, she absolutely dared not sleep in the same room as Amelia. If she did, she would definitely end up doing something strange.

Amelia understood this perfectly well. “Then let’s go tidy up the bedroom next door. It’s a good thing that room’s already been cleaned, and we still have fresh bedding.”

Eileen nodded.

It wasn’t a difficult task, and the two of them quickly got the new bedroom ready.

Once everything was set, Amelia moved to leave the room.

“Well then, goodnight, Eileen.”

“Goodnight, Miss Lily.”

Bright and beautiful sunlight pierced through the clouds, cascading down upon Bild City.

In truth, a light rain had fallen over the city late the previous night. Many branches still clung to droplets of dew that hadn’t yet evaporated, now glistening like jewels under the morning sun’s rays.

The weather had turned cooler. Amelia changed into a long-sleeved white dress, her aqua-dyed, slightly wavy hair cascading loosely around her. She sat holding a steaming cup of milk in both hands, a copy of the Luban Morning Post laid out in front of her.

The incident that had occurred the previous night in the alleyway of the Moonlight District had already drawn the attention of the Security Office and made the headlines.

According to the report, the Security Office had worked through the night to arrest all the members of the Beck Adventure Party, including the Commander himself, Beck.

The battle had caused quite a commotion in Bild City and resulted in significant damage to public property. Naturally, such an act could not be overlooked.

Just what kind of punishment the Beck Adventure Party would face, however, remained to be seen.

As for the Red Moon Society members, they had all been slain by the Beck Adventure Party. The Constables from the Security Office had handled the cleanup of the bodies. The report stated that the Security Office had no knowledge of the other party’s identities and were currently investigating the matter.

‘Do they really not know? Or did the name “Red Moon Society” sound too bloody, and they decided to keep it confidential to avoid unnecessary public panic?’

Amelia mused to herself. She wasn’t going to blindly trust everything printed in the newspaper.

Setting down the paper, she glanced toward the door. Eileen stood there in her black-and-white Maid Outfit, her head hung low. She didn’t even dare to approach her.

The Demon of Lust Curse was being temporarily suppressed by Eileen, but the suppression was far from complete. The moment Eileen got close to someone, it could easily trigger the curse. It was an extremely dangerous affliction.

“This type of curse needs a Holy Spirit Potion to be dispelled. But how can I obtain a Holy Spirit Potion to solve the trouble Eileen’s curse is causing?” Amelia murmured to herself.
