The future?
When Eileen asked this question, Amelia couldn’t help but feel a bit lost.
It hadn’t even been a full twenty-four hours since she’d transmigrated to this world, and she had already experienced the destruction of a kingdom and a desperate flight. She really hadn’t had the time to think properly about what to do from now on.
“What ideas does Eileen have?” Amelia decided to hear Eileen’s opinion.
Eileen’s eyes showed determination. “If Miss wants my opinion, my idea is to seek out the Lords scattered across the land who still retain their strength. We can combine their forces and develop in secret. One day, we will rebuild a great army, cross the Flower Plain, fight our way back to the Royal Capital, and re-establish the Steele Kingdom!”
The various Lords?
Amelia looked at the bullet comments that had appeared. The viewers there weren’t optimistic about Eileen’s suggestion, because in the future, Eileen would indeed make contact with the remaining Lords in various regions. Those guys absolutely had no intention of restoring the kingdom. If contact was made, they might even turn around and sell Amelia out.
Seeing the comments, Amelia spoke, “Eileen, restoring the kingdom is still too far off for us. Besides escaping to a safe place, what I hope for more, going forward, is to gain sufficient power myself.”
Through the original owner’s memories, Amelia knew this was a world possessing special powers.
However, the power system in this world was a bit strange. It wasn’t the swords and magic, nor supernatural mysteries, from her impressions.
From the original owner’s memories, to grasp power in this world, one needed to seek it through the Faith of the Ten Gods. But these Ten Gods, rather than being deities, were more like ten peculiar artifacts. Because they possessed mysterious and powerful abilities, they were revered as Gods.
Sword of the God of War: Can bestow sword-related abilities and physical prowess.
Pure White Wings: Can bestow light and healing abilities.
Hymn of Ice and Fire: Can bestow flame and ice abilities.
Book of Mysteries: Can bestow Alchemy and Barrier abilities.
Bloody Red Moon: Can bestow death and Curse abilities.
Divine Tree of Nature: Can bestow plant manipulation and animal control abilities.
Bard’s Bow: Can bestow wind and marksmanship abilities.
Hammer of Thunder: Can bestow thunder and strength abilities.
Earth Throne: Can bestow earth and Life Cultivation abilities.
Trident of the Sea God: Can bestow water and Illusion Art abilities.
Among the Ten Gods, four belonged to the side of Humanity!
Pure White Wings belonged to the Church of Heaven, the Sword of the God of War belonged to the Saiya Empire, the Hymn of Ice and Fire belonged to the Sainsol Empire, and the Book of Mysteries belonged to the Sylanti Empire.
By placing one’s Faith in a God and constantly practicing Meditation, one could obtain its power and become an Apostle!
“Miss wants to obtain sufficient power? This…” Hearing Amelia’s words, Eileen was momentarily at a loss for words.
Eileen also knew about Amelia’s situation. In the past, Amelia had tried to place her Faith in all the human Gods, but ultimately failed, seemingly destined to remain an ordinary person.
The best way to generate Faith in a God is to witness the God directly and know its image. Only then can one perform Meditation in the mind.
But a God isn’t something everyone can gaze upon directly. Therefore, various Mindscape Diagrams depicting the God’s appearance or even just its outline were created. By simply viewing a Mindscape Diagram, one could still complete Meditation and become an Apostle.
The value of Mindscape Diagrams varied based on their level of Realism.
But back when the Steele Kingdom still existed, even though Amelia was a peripheral member of the royal family, she was still able to obtain a Mindscape Diagram with high Realism for Meditation. Yet, even so, she couldn’t become an Apostle of any God.
Most people couldn’t become Apostles, so Amelia’s case wasn’t particularly rare.
Amelia had these memories too. She said softly, “Is there really no way for me to grasp power?”
Eileen didn’t know how to answer. She was never a person good with words.
But Amelia wasn’t asking Eileen.
She was subtly using this method to prompt the viewers into providing useful information. Her attention was focused entirely on the bullet comments.
As Amelia’s topic shifted to Gods and Apostles, the bullet comments naturally began to discuss related information. One comment after another flooded past, dazzling Amelia’s eyes.
“If Miss wants to try again, I can help however I can.”
At that moment, Eileen seemed to think of something. She lifted her skirt, drawing Amelia’s gaze involuntarily.
Eileen reached her hand under her skirt and retrieved a scroll stored around her lower abdomen. She took it off and unrolled it, presenting it before Amelia.
The yellowed scroll was quite waterproof. Painted on it was a crimson sword. Just a single glance gave one the feeling that the sword conveyed a mesmerizing, dizzying sensation.
This was the Mindscape Diagram of the Sword of the God of War!
“This is the Mindscape Diagram I usually use. Its Realism is only 5%. Does Miss want to try placing her Faith in the Sword of the God of War again?”
An Apostle’s Meditation didn’t require the Mindscape Diagram every time. Viewing it about once a month was sufficient; the rest of the time, one could Meditate from memory.
【As expected of Eileen. She reached the level of a Mid-Rank Apostle with only a 5% Realism Mindscape Diagram.】
【Was Eileen already a Mid-Rank Apostle at the beginning?】
【Of course. You have to know, even the captain of the Royal Guard was only a High-Rank Apostle. And a Transcendent Apostle, there was only one in the original Steele Kingdom—the departed Grand General.】
【If Eileen had a higher Realism Mindscape Diagram, her strength could advance by leaps and bounds.】
【It’s definitely useless to have Amelia Meditate on the Sword of the God of War’s Mindscape Diagram. She’s not a pure human, so naturally, she can’t use a human Mindscape Diagram.】
The bullet comments buzzed with discussion.
Amelia glanced at the Sword of the God of War’s Mindscape Diagram, then looked at the bullet comments. Her pupils suddenly constricted.
She’s not a pure human? What did that mean?
Amelia searched the original owner’s memories but found no information suggesting she wasn’t a pure human. The original owner had grown up as a normal Princess since childhood, except for the inability to have Faith in the Gods like others.
Pondering this, Amelia handed the Mindscape Diagram back to Eileen. “Eileen, back when I consistently failed to establish Faith in any God, I couldn’t help but wonder if I wasn’t human, and therefore couldn’t have Faith in the human Gods.”
“Miss…”
Eileen didn’t know what to say. Many people, after failing to gain power from the Gods, would place their hopes on the Gods of other races. But the truth was, an inability to have Faith in the Gods simply meant one lacked the qualifications to become an Apostle.
“So, I was thinking, maybe I should find Mindscape Diagrams from other races to try,” Amelia said, all the while staring intently at the bullet comments floating before her eyes.
Her turning point lay within those comments.
