They surveyed the whole class, ultimately choosing seats in the fourth row against the wall. Originally, they’d wanted the window side, but that area was currently packed. They couldn’t be bothered to push through, fearing they’d have to constantly yield the spot for others to check the pillar rankings through the window.
The bell rang. The Military Pedagogy teacher didn’t appear. Instead, He Tong walked in, leading a black-haired woman in a crisp, sharp military uniform. The moment she stood on the podium, her thin lips pressed together, her light amber eyes gazing over the class below—the cadets all held their breath.
This presence—it was too powerful! Worthy of the Imperial Third Princess! An innate nobility others could hardly possess!
The two in the corner, however, were an exception.
Jia Hua looked at Mo Siyi on the podium, her eyes narrowing slightly. Leaning close to Zhen Yan’s ear, she whispered, “Have I seen her before?”
Zhen Yan pressed her lips together tightly, her eyes watching Mo Siyi on stage with open dislike. Her voice came out faintly, “Mm.”
This Mo Siyi was that female Alpha who had blocked their path after school on the street in An City! Her name seemed to be Shi Di.
Zhen Yan looked at Mo Siyi on the podium coldly.
If she was here just to study, Zhen Yan could simply not interfere with her. But if she was here to steal Jia Hua, then Zhen Yan would be forced to take action.
“Mo Siyi, 5A-Rank Alpha,” Mo Siyi introduced herself with a faint smile.
Hearing her claim to be a 5A-Rank Alpha on the podium sent shockwaves through the cadets below again.
The entire class fell silent, then almost simultaneously turned their heads to the first group against the wall, looking at Zhen Yan sitting there.
“Mo Siyi and Zhen Yan are both 5A-Rank Mental Power Users!!”
Someone opened the discussion, and the class was abuzz.
Most were intensely curious: why, as a member of the Imperial royal family and also a 5A-Rank Mental Power User, was Mo Siyi still ranked below Zhen Yan?
Mo Siyi had specifically come for Zhen Yan. The Emperor and Empress had instructed her: secure the affections of Zhen Yan—who was secretly an S-Rank Omega—as soon as possible. Best to marry and register quickly, Mark her, and have her bear powerful offspring… Her entire marital life mapped out meticulously.
Indeed, children recovered after being lost weren’t necessarily cherished.
Mo Siyi lowered her eyes, a world of irony flashing within them. Then she lifted her gaze, following the cadets’ stares toward the back. She saw Zhen Yan, and also Jia Hua sitting beside her.
Jia Hua?!! Wasn’t she an Omega? How was she in the Imperial Fourth Military Academy!
Mo Siyi’s pupils constricted. She clenched her fists, then remembered her current identity wasn’t just “Shi Di”—she was the Imperial Third Princess, Mo Siyi.
Lowering her gaze, she asked He Tong, “Teacher, do I need to introduce myself further?”
He Tong shook her head. “That will do. Then you… you can find a seat now.”
The respectful formality for royalty circled on her tongue, but she switched to the standard address. She was the teacher; Mo Siyi was her cadet.
Mo Siyi nodded, lifting her bag and stepping off the podium. She headed straight for Jia Hua and Zhen Yan, finally sitting in the row behind them—specifically, behind Jia Hua.
He Tong exited the classroom. The Military Pedagogy instructor entered and began his lecture.
“Long time no see,” a low, husky voice came from behind.
Jia Hua turned her head back and nodded. “Long time no see. I’m Qin Hua. She’s Zhen Yan.”
At Jia Hua identifying herself as Qin Hua, a flicker passed through Mo Siyi’s eyes, but a shallow smile soon appeared on her lips. “Hello. I’m Mo Siyi.”
Jia Hua nodded casually and turned back, listening intently to the teacher.
The morning consisted of two classes: Military Pedagogy and Military Psychology. When the dismissal bell for the second period rang, the Class A cadets didn’t immediately rush off to lunch as usual. Instead, they all sat quietly in their seats, fiddling with pens or flipping through books—anything but leaving.
If one observed closely, their peripheral vision was all surreptitiously watching Zhen Yan and Mo Siyi.
Two 5A-Rank Mental Power Users—would they become friends or enemies? This had everyone intensely curious.
Zhen Yan and Jia Hua packed up, slung their bags over their shoulders, and prepared to leave through the back door. But Mo Siyi blocked them in the aisle.
Smiling faintly, Mo Siyi said, “I’m new here and don’t know where the Canteen is yet. Mind if I walk with you?”
The Class A cadets thought: Wow, the Third Princess looks so gentle and pretty when she smiles!
Zhen Yan tightened her grip on Jia Hua’s hand. Sensing her displeasure, Jia Hua immediately shook her head. “We have matters to discuss with the Homeroom Teacher. Just ask any cadet around. Everyone here is very friendly.”
With that, she led Zhen Yan past Mo Siyi. Mo Siyi stood where she was, the faint smile at the corner of her mouth unwavering. She didn’t even turn to watch them leave.
The Class A cadets thought: Oh ho, the Third Princess’s friendly gesture was rejected! Qin Hua and Zhen Yan truly have guts, not even giving face to the Imperial Third Princess!
Standing inside the teacher’s office, Jia Hua thought: For real, it was He Tong who asked for us.
He Tong took a sip of tea and set her cup down, asking the two standing before her, “Have you finished your 100,000 meters?”
Jia Hua: “No.”
He Tong snorted and looked at Jia Hua. “Didn’t you say you’d go to class only after finishing the run?”
Jia Hua: “After thinking it over, I realized I can’t give up studying no matter what.”
He Tong: “…” No need to make it sound so noble.
“Gurgle~~” Jia Hua’s stomach growled from hunger.
He Tong was speechless. “…Go on. When you have time, go to the drill ground and run. No time limit, but you must finish at the latest before the long holiday break.”
The two nodded. “Thank you, Teacher.” And with that, they immediately headed to the Canteen, intent on filling their rumbling stomachs first.
As usual, they ate on the first floor. After lunch, they returned to Zhen Yan’s dorm. Their backsides had just hit the sofa when the doorbell rang.
The two on the sofa looked at each other. Together, they walked to the door and saw, through the peephole, Mo Siyi standing outside, holding a plate of pastries in both hands.
Jia Hua silently asked Zhen Yan whether to open the door. Zhen Yan nodded. Jia Hua then opened it.
“What a coincidence, Jia Hua. You’re here too.” Mo Siyi smiled faintly, lifting the plate in her hands. “I personally made some pastries. Made too many, so I brought some over for my neighbor to try.”
The “neighbor” she referred to was specifically meant for Dorm A-02; Dorm A-03 didn’t count.
“Thank you.” Zhen Yan accepted coolly.
“We haven’t seen each other for so long. Won’t you invite me in for a sit? I even brought you snacks,” Mo Siyi said with a smile.
Zhen Yan glanced at the smiling Mo Siyi, her eyes narrowing slightly, then stepped aside. “Come in.”
Mo Siyi walked in and sat on the sofa. Jia Hua poured her a cup of hot water. She took it with a smile, cradling it in her hands, and nodded. “Thank you.”
Jia Hua and Zhen Yan sat on the sofa opposite her. Zhen Yan asked directly, “Well? What is it?”
This Mo Siyi clearly didn’t come with good intentions. “What a coincidence”? Those pastries were obviously a two-person portion. And they’d knocked just as they entered the dorm—clearly staking out the place for a while.
Mo Siyi’s gaze swept over Jia Hua and Zhen Yan before asking frankly, “Are you two in an Omega-Omega Relationship?”
Both their faces went cold. “What does that have to do with you?”
Blurting out “Omega-Omega Relationship” so readily proved she already knew Zhen Yan’s true identity as an S-Rank Omega.
If she, as the Imperial Third Princess, knew, then the entire royal family likely knew. Or rather, all those in high, powerful positions knew Zhen Yan’s true status.
“Naturally, it concerns me,” Mo Siyi said with a laugh, though her tone carried a hint of mockery. “I came to the Imperial Fourth Military Academy specifically for Zhen Yan. After all, my royal father and mother hope I can marry Zhen Yan and produce powerful Mental Power-bearing heirs for the royal family.”
“Ha.” Zhen Yan let out a cold sneer, looking straight at Mo Siyi with icy disdain. “Delusional.”
Being scorned by Zhen Yan like this didn’t anger Mo Siyi. Instead, it lifted a weight from her heart. She lifted her cup with both hands, took a sip of the hot tea, and set it down.
“I think it’s delusional too. Besides, your Omega gland is defective, and your body has difficulty conceiving. If, after marriage, there are no offspring, their dream of powerful descendants would shatter—”
Before Mo Siyi could finish her sentence, Jia Hua, who had been silent the whole time, grabbed her by the throat and slammed her viciously against the sofa.
“Her condition is not for you to comment on, even a single word.” Jia Hua’s voice was dark and chilling, making one’s hair stand on end.
Mo Siyi could barely breathe. Her face gradually flushed. She clawed at Jia Hua’s hands, struggling desperately to pry them off, but Jia Hua’s hands felt as heavy as mountains. She couldn’t budge them at all.
Mo Siyi’s breathing grew increasingly difficult. Her gaze slowly began to scatter.
Just as she thought her life would end at Jia Hua’s hands, Jia Hua suddenly released her grip. She returned to the sofa opposite, crossing her legs and smiling at Mo Siyi.
Mo Siyi gasped, sucking in huge lungfuls of air. Her throat and chest burned painfully. She lay on the sofa, coughing uncontrollably.
“You can go back and tell the Emperor and Empress: I will never be with you. Advise them to abandon this notion as soon as possible,” Zhen Yan said icily.
“Cough, cough…” It took Mo Siyi a long while to recover somewhat. She drained the rest of the hot tea in front of her and then said, “I came here precisely to discuss a strategy with you, reach an agreement, and seek mutual benefit.”
“You are an S-Rank Omega. The entire Empire surely has many coveting you. Even if you and Jia Hua truly love each other, you’re both Omegas. You can’t produce heirs, can’t pass down your superior genes. Do you think the Empire will allow such an incredibly rare and powerful Mental Power User to appear for just one generation and then vanish? By then, you and Jia Hua might be in constant danger. You’re an S-Rank Mental Power User, so perhaps you have nothing to fear. But Jia Hua isn’t.”
Mo Siyi paused, her brow furrowing slightly as she remembered Jia Hua gripping her throat, nearly killing her. Forcing herself to continue, she said, “But as long as you enter a fake marriage with me, maintaining surface-level spousal relations, I can let you two be together forever. During this fake marriage, I will absolutely not touch you. When I ascend the throne, I will let you go.”
“What do you think?”
“Heh…” Zhen Yan gave a cold laugh. “I think it’s an utterly poor, terrible idea. I refuse.”
“Anyone who dares put us in danger… I guarantee they won’t see tomorrow morning’s dawn.”
Mo Siyi’s expression turned grave. “Can you guarantee Jia Hua’s safety then? You can’t tie her to your body 24 hours a day. She’ll inevitably have moments alone. Are you saying she can never leave the house her entire life?”
No matter what, she had to marry Zhen Yan. Zhen Yan would be her greatest bargaining chip for seizing the throne… If Jia Hua became an obstacle, she would move her out of the way—get rid of her.
Zhen Yan smiled without speaking, turning her head to look at Jia Hua.
“What do you mean?” Zhen Yan’s smile unsettled Mo Siyi. Her gaze shifted to Jia Hua as well.
Jia Hua raised her right hand and snapped her fingers. A powerful and domineering Mental Power pressed down on Mo Siyi.
This Mental Power was too overwhelming and tyrannical. Mo Siyi instantly tasted blood in her throat.
“Blargh—” She couldn’t hold back and spat out blood. She curled up on the ground, clutching her head, her expression twisted in agony.
Another crisp snap rang out. The oppressive sensation abruptly vanished.
Mo Siyi lay motionless on the floor, her breathing faint.
That Mental Power just now was simply too terrifying. She’d had absolutely no will to resist—only to submit.
Jia Hua uncrossed her legs, walked over, and crouched down before Mo Siyi. She tapped a knuckle against the cold tile floor and smiled faintly.
“Then let them come and try. Let’s see who dies—me, or them.”
