“Mhm.”
Yin Sha was very curious. She picked up the Detailed Explanation of Basic Arrays and began reading with keen interest.
Bai Sha flipped through the Array Compendium for a while but only felt dizzy and muddled. She truly wasn’t good at this kind of profound content.
Then she turned her head and saw Yin Sha holding a book with her pectoral fins, reading with deep enjoyment, and couldn’t help but be surprised.
“Sister Yin Sha, can you understand it?”
“Sort of. This array stuff seems quite interesting.”
“Sister Yin Sha, try reading this one.”
Bai Sha handed over the Array Compendium.
Yin Sha took it and looked through it, immediately becoming engrossed. Her eyes lit up, looking as if she had discovered a new world.
This made Bai Sha click her tongue in wonder. Could it be that Yin Sha had a good talent for the Dao of Arrays?
After thinking for a moment, Bai Sha placed all the array-related books beside Yin Sha so she could read whenever she wanted, while Bai Sha herself left the undersea cave to cultivate outside.
Another day passed in the blink of an eye.
Although the deep seafloor had no division between day and night, Bai Sha knew that a day had likely passed because she once again felt that uncontrollable drowsiness. She remembered that before entering the dream of the Heavenly Cycle Array Sect, she had felt this same uncontrollable sleepiness.
“Is it happening again?”
Bai Sha tried to resist the drowsiness, but no matter how hard she tried, it was useless. It wasn’t long before she succumbed to it and fell asleep.
……
“Junior Martial Sister Bai Sha, wake up.”
Bai Sha felt someone pinching her face.
Opening her eyes, Zhou Yingying’s delicate and cute appearance appeared before her. Although clearly having just woken up, she looked exceptionally energetic, especially her large, bright, limpid eyes. Strands of black hair fell past her cheeks, framing her youthful face.
Seeing Bai Sha awake, Zhou Yingying said cheerfully, “I’m going to wash my face first. Junior Martial Sister, hurry up too. If we’re too slow, the other disciples will eat up all the tasty breakfast in the dining hall.”
As she spoke, Zhou Yingying jogged off.
Bai Sha used her pectoral fins to push off the blanket, and then fell into thought.
She had entered this world again, yet she had clearly left all the books in the undersea cave. Could they still affect her from such a great distance?
Or was the thing affecting her not those books, but something else on her person?
The Token?
The Skeleton?
The Table and Chairs?
Bai Sha thought for a moment and decided to set all these aside later to test them out.
But that was for later. Right now, she could only live a day as a disciple of the Heavenly Cycle Array Sect.
After getting up, it was off to the dining hall for breakfast, and then to Gong Yuxiang’s place.
Gong Yuxiang looked no different from yesterday—still captivatingly charming. Even without making any deliberate movements, she always made one’s heart race faster in her presence.
The only difference was that she had swapped the book in her hand for a different one.
After the Saintess Had Her First Experience.
Bai Sha: “…”
This cheap Shizun did have a bit of an expert’s air about her normally, but the books she read seemed exceptionally improper. Could it be that her outward appearance and inner self didn’t match?
Bai Sha didn’t let her mind wander too much, because as soon as she and Zhou Yingying arrived, Gong Yuxiang put down the book in her hands and looked over at them.
“Bai Sha, continue reading the Array Compendium. Yingying, you read the Intermediate Array Explanation.”
“Yes, Shizun.”
Zhou Yingying answered obediently, nudging Bai Sha with her elbow.
Bai Sha had no choice but to chime in.
Then the Array Compendium was placed into Bai Sha’s hands.
Looking at this book, Bai Sha felt an impending headache, but she could only slowly start reading.
The day was tedious and dull.
Of course, only Bai Sha felt it was dull.
Zhou Yingying would occasionally ask questions during her study, and Gong Yuxiang would answer them. The exchanges between master and disciple were very harmonious.
In comparison, Bai Sha was somewhat out of place.
Under such circumstances, another day unknowingly passed.
The night was dark, the wind cold.
Bai Sha’s day of study ended here. Just like yesterday, she left this place with Zhou Yingying, then went to the dining hall to eat, before returning to their living quarters to rest.
……
“Gurgle, gurgle…”
Bubbles rose up through the seawater, one after another.
Bai Sha shook her head, then looked around, a bewildered expression on her face.
“Where have I ended up?”
All around was a dark undersea canyon; she couldn’t even see the environment too clearly.
Sharks have the ability to keep swimming even while asleep, leading some to believe sharks never need to sleep.
Clearly, Bai Sha had instinctively swum while asleep and had arrived in such an unfamiliar place.
