Chapter 56: Youth Association
“Meow?”
The girl tilted her head, her small fists curled up by her cheeks, her face flushed red, reaching her earlobes, as if steam would erupt from her head at any moment.
“Excuse me, goodbye.”
An Zhi quickly lowered her head, still hoping that the two in front of her hadn’t noticed. She snatched the flyer from Su Yu’s hand, turned, and ran, the high-heeled leather shoes clattering on the ground.
“Isn’t that An Zhi?”
“It seems so.”
The girl’s body suddenly stiffened, her escape halted. She slowly turned around, her shyness intensifying, her round, deer-like eyes misty.
“Su Yu~ what are you guys doing here?”
An Zhi frowned, her voice tinged with a hint of a cry, her grievances written all over her face. The thought of her previous cutesy tone made her want to bang her head against a wall.
“We thought it was lively here, so we came to check it out.” Su Yu looked at An Zhi’s reluctant expression and guessed that the girl had probably been forced into this. “This maid outfit? Is this a specialty of your youth association?”
An Zhi was wearing a dress Su Yu had never seen before. The black and white maid outfit seemed to come to life on her, the fluffy skirt flaring out from her waist, accentuating her slender, long legs. The knee-high socks hugged her legs, creating a delicate, graceful curve.
“Don’t… don’t look!”
An Zhi glared at Su Yu fiercely and took two steps back, the cat ears on her head swaying, looking fluffy.
The girl’s reluctant expression clearly showed she had been forced into this. The eye-catching maid outfit made her blush. She subconsciously pulled down the lace-trimmed hem of her skirt, covering the tight line where the thigh-high socks met her skin, the soft, white flesh peeking out like a layer of cream, looking soft and delicate.
“Well… you guys chat. I’ll be going now, or Xiaoxiao will be waiting.”
Gu Chuan, seeing the situation, smiled and said his goodbyes.
“Then I…” Su Yu glanced at An Zhi, looking troubled.
“You’re not allowed to leave!”
An Zhi’s big eyes darted around, and she suddenly grabbed Su Yu’s wrist, acting like a spoiled child. “You have to come back with me and report!”
“Me? Report what?” Su Yu was held back by An Zhi, and in a moment, Gu Chuan had already disappeared.
“Come with me to the Youth Association. You should join a club, Su Yu.” An Zhi’s grip tightened, her teeth clenched as she tried to persuade him. She had already decided that she would drag someone down with her. Anyone who had seen her in the maid outfit had to join her on this sinking ship. “This is for your own good!”
“Alright, alright, I’ll go with you.” Su Yu couldn’t resist An Zhi’s pleading.
“Hmph, that’s more like it.”
An Zhi grinned, revealing a row of pearly white teeth. She proudly wiggled her eyebrows. “Let me tell you, our Youth Association has a lot of good people, especially a senior named Sister Hong. She’s really nice. I’ll take you to meet her.”
…
Su Yu took two steps back. This woman named Nie Hong seemed a bit too enthusiastic. He turned to look at An Zhi, who was covering her mouth, secretly laughing, her shoulders shaking, her acting terrible, just short of laughing out loud.
“Classmate~ are you thinking of joining our Youth Association?”
Nie Hong smiled sweetly and gently. Da Zhuang, standing beside her, watched with trepidation. He had never seen Nie Hong smile like this, not even in front of An Zhi’s brother, An Lin.
“An Zhi is my classmate. She asked me to come and take a look…” Su Yu nodded politely, feeling a bit uncomfortable under Nie Hong’s wolf-like gaze. It felt like a hunter sizing up its prey. “Senior sister is very enthusiastic.”
“Not at all. An Zhi calls me Sister Hong, you can do the same.”
Nie Hong reined in her sudden enthusiasm and took out a new registration form. “If you’re interested in joining our Youth Association and becoming a volunteer, you can fill out this form first to learn more.”
Su Yu took the form and glanced at it. He hadn’t joined any clubs in his previous life, and his social circle was pitifully small. But he was familiar with the work of the Youth Association, having seen them often in his previous life. If he wanted to have a richer university life, the Youth Association was indeed a good choice.
“Sign it, sign it, Su Yu… hurry up and sign.” An Zhi was like a little enchantress, whispering temptations in his ear. “If you don’t sign, everyone will be sad. Can you bear to do that?”
Su Yu smiled and held the pen. He looked up at Da Zhuang and a few other seniors who were watching him. It had nothing to do with An Zhi’s persuasion. If he lived his life over again and it was the same as before, it would be a bit boring. He should change, have a different trajectory than in his previous life. With that thought, the ink-filled pen tip touched the paper.
“We welcome you to the Youth Association, classmate Su Yu.”
It was the same old routine. Da Zhuang shouted through a megaphone, attracting a lot of attention.
“Um… don’t I need an interview?” Su Yu suddenly felt something was wrong. The approval was a bit too fast.
“An Zhi’s brother was our senior, and everyone respects him. You’re An Zhi’s classmate, so you don’t need an interview either. Just sign your name, and we’ll take care of the rest.”
Nie Hong quickly took the form from the table, as if afraid Su Yu would change his mind. “Well, since you’ve joined the association, National Day is a good time for us to recruit new members. You and An Zhi can go hand out flyers together. We’ll have a welcome party for the new members in a few days.”
“Huh? Sister Hong, doesn’t Su Yu have to do business?” An Zhi’s eyes suddenly widened, and she pouted, a little unhappy. She tugged at the fluffy ball on her ear. “I had to…”
“About that, no rush…” Nie Hong squinted and smiled, her gaze sweeping over the boy’s alluring, water-like eyebrows. “We can’t waste it. Such a good seedling.”
“What are you guys talking about?” Su Yu frowned, confused.
“Okay, Sister Hong, we’re leaving now.”
An Zhi’s face instantly lit up. She silently apologized to Su Yu in her heart and pulled him away from the Youth Association’s booth.
…
“It’s just handing out flyers. Why are you in such a hurry?”
“Oh? I have a date with my sister. She’s in the student union and is on patrol here today.” An Zhi giggled, her expression mysterious. “My sister is very pretty, and she’s very gentle. I’ll introduce you to her. You’re lucky, hmph.”
“The one from the mall, the part-timer?” Su Yu still had some impression of her.
“Yes, yes.” An Zhi stood on her tiptoes, looking around the crowd, and suddenly pointed in a direction. “Over there, over there, the one with the armband.”
An Zhi pulled Su Yu’s sleeve and ran towards a less crowded area. But Su Yu’s steps slowed down. He stared at the figure in the distance, stunned.
“Hello, sister. This is my friend, Su Yu.” An Zhi turned around and saw Su Yu staring at her sister in a daze. She furrowed her pretty brows and lightly stomped on his foot.
“Su Yu! You’re so rude.” Her voice suddenly became much smaller, a little… unhappy. “Even if my sister is pretty… you can’t stare at her.”
“It’s okay. We know each other.”
Xia Qian Ge patted An Zhi’s head, her eyes crinkling into a smile as she looked up at Su Yu.
“Su Yu… long time no see.”
