Panda Cub, So Cute and Fierce 3

Chapter 3: Falling from the Sky

========================

He Jingsu looked up at Bei Queting and said innocently, “I don’t want to fight either, but they’re just so punchable!”

How could those people say such infuriating things? And wasn’t it better to just live their own lives? Why were they always staring at others?

Ever since they enrolled, they had quickly become popular figures at the school. Bei Queting, in particular, had entered with the top score on the middle school entrance exam and had consistently held the number one spot ever since. Coupled with her rather cool personality, she was known as the “aloof academic goddess.”

But while many people liked her, many also disliked her. There were even male students who, after being rejected by her, would spread malicious rumors. He Jingsu had gotten into quite a few fights with these boys over the years, finding them utterly detestable.

Hearing her words, Bei Queting felt a little helpless. “I don’t care what they say.”

She had heard far worse things than that; their actions just seemed ridiculous to her.

“But I care!” He Jingsu said, indignant. Her Beibei was so wonderful; she wouldn’t allow anyone to slander her!

Seeing He Jingsu so angry, Bei Queting’s gaze softened. She had never known she would have someone who would defend her so unconditionally. Every time she saw He Jingsu protecting her like this, she couldn’t help but wonder what she had done to deserve it.

“I don’t want to talk about this with you anymore!” He Jingsu huffed. Since their opinions on this matter were at odds, she didn’t want to argue with Beibei.

“Okay, we won’t talk about it,” Bei Queting said softly. She just didn’t want He Jingsu to get punished for her sake again, but that didn’t mean she was ungrateful.

Just then, the class bell rang. He Jingsu quickly said, “Wait for me after class!”

With that, she dashed downstairs, a whirlwind of motion.

Bei Queting smiled and turned to head back to her classroom.

When she entered, the atmosphere among her classmates seemed to freeze for a moment, and even their voices grew quieter.

None of her former classmates were in her new class, 2-6. Combined with her cool personality, the other students found her aloof and unapproachable. So, even though it had been a full morning since school started, no one had dared to approach her.

Bei Queting wasn’t bothered by this. She returned to her seat. Her deskmate was a cute-looking girl with a bob haircut that made her look even younger.

However, she seemed to be very shy and timid. Apart from a greeting when Bei Queting first sat down, she hadn’t even dared to look in her direction.

Meanwhile, He Jingsu rushed back to her classroom, slipping in just ahead of the teacher who was walking toward her. Her movements were incredibly swift.

The teacher, of course, noticed the fleeting figure and shot her a look, though she found it rather amusing. She didn’t even need to guess to know that the girl had gone to find Bei Queting. The two of them were famous throughout Xingzhi for being incredibly close.

Sighing softly, she wondered if it was because she had watched He Jingsu’s family’s reality show when she was younger that she now viewed the girl with a sort of motherly affection. How could this kid be so adorable?

She entered the classroom and saw He Jingsu already seated properly. Smiling, she didn’t say anything more and announced the start of class.

Although this was a private, prestigious school, the teachers were still under a lot of pressure to perform. So, they rarely wasted time in class. If the first order of business on the first day was a placement test, the second was to immediately start lessons.

He Jingsu sat next to Qiu Si. In this tense learning environment, she felt the heart that had just flown out to Bei Queting snap right back. She began to listen attentively to the teacher.

She once didn’t understand why she, a demon, had to attend a human school and bear the pressure of exams. She had even asked her mom, He Ying, about it.

At the time, He Ying hadn’t said anything. She just had her take out a hundred yuan and go to a night market. There, she found a stall where you could win prizes by reciting ancient poems and another with a ball-tossing game controlled by the owner with magnets. She just let her play.

He Jingsu played, and she suffered a harsh lesson in the cost of being uneducated. By the end, not a single cent of her hundred yuan was left.

She only remembered her mom asking her, “Do you know what school is for now?”

Tears welled up in little He Jingsu’s eyes. Her hundred yuan was gone—a hundred yuan she had taken from her own little piggy bank!

For a money-lover, a lesson like that was enough to be remembered for a lifetime.

Being uneducated will make you go broke!

After a long class, Qiu Si finally turned to talk to He Jingsu.

“Daidai, did Little Ting agree to let you sleep over?”

At this, He Jingsu puffed out her chest proudly. “Of course Beibei agreed! She definitely can’t sleep well without me either!”

They had been eating and sleeping together for so many years. In her mind, the fact that Beibei had agreed so quickly must mean she knew she couldn’t live without her!

“Oh.” Seeing Daidai’s expression, Qiu Si muttered under her breath that her mom was right.

Her mom had told her that He Jingsu was just like her mommy—the type to forget her aunt as soon as she had a wife.

Though she didn’t understand why her mom called Little Ting Daidai’s wife, it was true that Daidai forgot all about her aunt whenever Little Ting was around.

When class ended for lunch, He Jingsu’s teacher held them back for a bit. By the time He Jingsu got out of the classroom, Bei Queting was already waiting outside. Others saw her waiting for He Jingsu and muttered to themselves about how ridiculously close the two were, always sticking together.

“Beibei!” He Jingsu immediately ran over and took Bei Queting’s hand.

“Mhm,” Bei Queting hummed softly, then looked up at Qiu Si behind her. “Si Si.”

Qiu Si looked at how close the two of them were and decided it was best not to be a third wheel. “You two go ahead and eat. I…”

“She’s eating with me!”

Suddenly, an arm draped over Qiu Si’s shoulder. Qiu Si followed the arm up to see a girl much taller than her, her long hair tied in a high ponytail, her features sharp and spirited. She was smiling at her.

Qiu Si frowned. “I’m not eating with you!”

“Si Si, my dear Si Si, come on, let’s go together~” the girl immediately bent down, resting her chin on Qiu Si’s shoulder and whining, completely shameless for a senior.

Seeing this, Bei Queting silently led a bewildered He Jingsu away, leaving the other two to bicker.

Though He Jingsu was being led away by Bei Queting, she kept looking back, asking with confusion, “Why is that senior so clingy with Si Si?”

She had been wondering for a while now. She didn’t know when Si Si and this senior had met, but the senior was always coming to find Si Si.

Bei Queting glanced at He Jingsu, knowing she wouldn’t understand these things. Still, she felt the senior’s intentions were obvious enough. Even Si Si had figured it out, so why was Daidai still clueless?

Weren’t they both panda cubs?

“Let’s go eat,” Bei Queting said, not knowing how to explain it and changing the subject.

“Okay.” He Jingsu was easily distracted.

However, she had no appetite for the cafeteria food. Her palate had been spoiled by her mom’s cooking, and everything outside tasted the same to her.

The two went to the cafeteria, randomly ordered some food, and after finishing, He Jingsu pulled Bei Queting toward the supermarket to buy three bed curtains—one was for Si Si.

He Jingsu liked using matching items with Bei Queting, so they even bought identical bed curtains. They first went to Bei Queting’s dorm to hang hers. There, Bei Queting also met her roommate, who turned out to be her shy deskmate.

Bei Queting was slightly relieved to see that her roommate was her. She felt that her deskmate had the kind of personality that understood boundaries, so even without being told, she wouldn’t casually lift her bed curtain.

After they hung the curtain together, He Jingsu looked at Bei Queting’s roommate and asked, “What’s your name? I’m He Jingsu, from class 16.”

Seeing that this person got to be roommates with Beibei, He Jingsu felt a pang of envy. She wished she could be Beibei’s roommate too.

“I-I’m Xia Mu,” the girl said, her face slightly flushed. She had watched He Jingsu and Bei Queting’s interaction with envy. At the same time, she had witnessed what others often talked about: the two different faces of Bei Queting—one when she was with He Jingsu, and one when she wasn’t.

The difference really was huge.

“Mhm, I might come over to find Beibei often in the future, so I might disturb you. But I’ll try to be very quiet. If you find me annoying, you can tell me,” He Jingsu said very seriously.

Hearing this, Bei Queting, standing to the side, couldn’t help but smile. She found Daidai’s earnestness in telling someone they could call her annoying incredibly cute. Adorably dazed.

“Ah? Oh, you won’t,” Xia Mu said with a shy smile.

“Alright, let’s go to your place now,” Bei Queting said, pulling He Jingsu.

“No need.” He Jingsu shook her head and whispered in Bei Queting’s ear, “I’ll be right back. You can just wait for me here.”

The warm, soft breath tickled her ear, but Bei Queting didn’t pull away. She nodded in agreement.

He Jingsu beamed and quickly ran toward her own dorm.

“You two are really close,” Xia Mu said with a touch of envy. She had a younger sister too, but she felt they weren’t as close as He Jingsu and her friend.

Bei Queting smiled faintly. “Because she’s very good to me.”

She accepted her unconditionally and always thought of her when something good happened. For so many years, she had never changed.

Faced with such a wonderful Daidai, she always wanted to treat her even better.

After washing up and changing into her pajamas, she returned to her bed. She carefully made sure every corner of the bed curtain was tightly closed, blocking any prying eyes.

Just as she was about to lie down, a panda cub suddenly fell from the sky and landed right in her arms.

Bei Queting, who had been abruptly hit, was speechless.

He Jingsu watched the people fawning over the little fluffy bird and felt an instinctual displeasure.

The little fluffy bird was clearly hers. What right did they have to covet her little bird?

She could treat the little bird better than any of them!

As a Northern Long-tailed Tit, Bei Queting was supposed to huddle with other tits for warmth, but she was ostracized. She learned to be cautious from a young age. After being driven out of her flock’s territory, she met a very cute girl.

The girl’s true form was a panda cub with a pair of wings. She was incredibly good to her, letting her run wild.

And she meant that literally—running wild on top of her head.

As Bei Queting nestled on the panda’s head, she thought, I want to be with He Jingsu forever.

Coincidentally, that was exactly what He Jingsu was thinking, too.

A naturally dazed, doting panda with a strong desire to pamper her wife (Gong/Top) x A little fluffy bird who is soft on the outside, strong on the inside, and incredibly possessive (Shou/Bottom).

A sweet, heartwarming story about the daily lives of childhood sweethearts.
