Monkey hadn’t named any names, but everyone knew exactly who he was referring to.
Alioth put on a helpless expression and said, “Don’t say that. We’re all reincarnators here, after all.”
Monkey simply shrugged, clearly not caring about Alioth’s words. Then, hands stuffed in his pockets, he walked out.
Black Face and Funny were even more direct, having already left while Monkey and Alioth were still talking.
“I can’t take it anymore! Let’s go, let’s pound that guy called Monkey!” Leona wrote on Tsukiyomi Ruri’s hand.
Tsukiyomi Ruri didn’t reply. Instead, she traced a direction on Leona’s head, indicating which way to go. Leona immediately started walking out of the building, neither too fast nor too slow.
“Ghost, please wait.” Alioth suddenly spoke up at that moment. “I have a few matters I’d like to discuss with you.”
Tsukiyomi Ruri tapped lightly on Leona’s head. She turned her head. “Discuss? What do you want to discuss?”
Alioth gave a mysterious smile. “Let’s head out first. We can talk as we walk.”
Tsukiyomi Ruri had no objections.
Leona, however, had many objections. As she walked according to Tsukiyomi Ruri’s directions, she simultaneously wanted to write on Tsukiyomi Ruri’s hand to express her views.
But this time, both of Tsukiyomi Ruri’s hands were resting on Leona’s head, making it inconvenient for Leona to write. So, as she walked, Leona reached out a finger and began to write on Tsukiyomi Ruri’s thigh.
A strange, tingling sensation traveled up from her thigh.
“This Alioth stopped us. Won’t we lose track of that guy called Monkey now?” Leona wrote.
“It doesn’t matter. Let’s first see what Alioth has to say. I’m sensing a very subtle feeling. It’s the feeling of being watched by a venomous snake. Very interesting,” Tsukiyomi Ruri wrote in reply.
“Being watched?” Leona was startled and immediately quieted down.
The night had grown deep. The moon and stars were no longer visible in the sky, and the entire environment was extremely dark.
The abandoned factory site was even more profoundly dark, without the illumination of any lights, and utterly silent. Only the sound of footsteps echoed in the stillness.
The other three reincarnators had already left, leaving only Alioth and Tsukiyomi Ruri walking.
“No one else around now,” Alioth remarked, glancing at their surroundings.
“Indeed, no one’s here. So, whatever you wanted to do, you can start now,” Tsukiyomi Ruri looked at him, waiting for his performance.
Alioth looked at Tsukiyomi Ruri with surprise. “You figured out I have ill intentions?”
“Is it hard to figure out?” Tsukiyomi Ruri asked in return.
“Seems I was being too obvious after all,” Alioth said with a smile. “But don’t blame me. Blame yourself. A Low-Level Reincarnator, what are you doing coming here? If you hadn’t come, my target tonight would have been one of the other three.”
As he spoke, Alioth began to walk step by step toward Tsukiyomi Ruri.
“What do you want by capturing reincarnators?” Tsukiyomi Ruri watched him and asked.
“You’ll naturally find out once you’re caught. Why ask more questions now?” Alioth had no intention of answering.
“Fine, then I’ll ask a different question. With four possible targets, you specifically targeted me. Is it because you assumed I’m a Low-Level Reincarnator and thought I was the weakest, right?” Tsukiyomi Ruri continued her questioning.
“Of course. Isn’t that obvious? When picking a target, you naturally pick the weakest one,” Alioth had now come to a stop right in front of Tsukiyomi Ruri.
In Alioth’s view, someone who could only produce an N-Grade card and couldn’t even present an R-Grade card was definitely a Low-Level Reincarnator.
Perhaps that judgment was too absolute, but Alioth was confident he wasn’t wrong. After all, normally, a Senior Reincarnator wouldn’t attend a gathering he organized. The nuances in his forum post hinted at the gathering’s level, meaning at most, only Mid-Level Reincarnators would attend.
Thus, in the eyes of a Senior Reincarnator like himself, everything was within his control.
“So that’s why I was judged to be a Low-Level Reincarnator?” Tsukiyomi Ruri took out the N-Grade Ability Card, [Updraft].
“What, you’re not a Low-Level Reincarnator?” Alioth sized Tsukiyomi Ruri up as he spoke.
“Congratulations, you guessed right. I am not a Low-Level Reincarnator. As for what level of reincarnator I truly am, you’ll be able to get a rough idea very soon.” As she said this, Tsukiyomi Ruri directly used [Updraft].
Streams of air currents appeared around them, surging upward.
Faced with this, Alioth actually laughed. “Maybe I did misjudge. You’re actually a Mid-Level Reincarnator. But, do you know that I am a Senior Reincarnator? A Mid-Level Reincarnator using an N-Grade ability, what do you have to fight a Senior Reincarnator like me? Hahaha, you didn’t expect me to be a Senior Reincarnator, did you… What the fuck!”
Just as Alioth was gloating, he felt the air current beneath him suddenly intensify drastically. Caught completely off guard, his entire body was forcibly blasted into mid-air by the airflow, and it continued to push him higher and higher into the sky.
“What’s happening? What is this? Isn’t that an N-Grade Ability Card? An N-Grade ability!” Alioth frantically circulated his energy, trying to resist the surging updraft, but it was useless. Panic flooded his heart, mixed with utter confusion.
How could an N-Grade ability launch him, a Senior Reincarnator, into the sky? What did this signify?
As he briefly considered the possibilities, cold sweat instantly broke out on Alioth’s forehead.
But now wasn’t the time to ponder such things.
Realizing the distance between himself and the earth was constantly increasing, Alioth’s entire body tensed, his breathing ragged.
Although he was a Senior Reincarnator, he didn’t possess the ability to fly. If he fell from this height, it would definitely not be a pleasant experience.
“Ghost! Ghost, I admit I was wrong! Let me down first!” Alioth shouted loudly toward the ground below.
No one responded to Alioth.
After Tsukiyomi Ruri had used [Updraft] to launch Alioth high into the sky, she simply put the Ability Card away. Now, she would just let him experience a free fall.
“Hahaha, this guy even tried to trick you by saying he’s a Senior Reincarnator. He thought he could scare you,” Leona couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Tsukiyomi Ruri: “…”
She could confirm that the other party was indeed a Senior Reincarnator. However, Leona subjectively believed Tsukiyomi Ruri was a Senior Reincarnator herself. So, seeing Alioth being so effortlessly blasted into the sky by her, Leona simply didn’t believe the answer that Alioth was a Senior Reincarnator.
Tsukiyomi Ruri didn’t bother to correct her, because Alioth was beginning his descent.
“AAAAAAHHHHH…”
Amidst a piercing, miserable scream, Alioth plummeted from the sky and crashed violently into the earth. The ground cratered and cracked on impact. His entire body was a mangled mess of blood and flesh, the ground stained crimson with his blood.
