Jiang Xue has a secret.

One day, another person’s handwriting suddenly appeared in her diary.

The handwriting, written with a brush, was delicate yet firm, and in traditional Chinese characters.

Curiously, she began communicating with the other person through the diary and discovered that they were a princess awaiting a marriage alliance, recently sent from her defeated homeland, and soon to be wed.

Jiang Xue was happy to chat with her and alleviate her boredom. Since communication was inconvenient, she used her phone to convert simplified characters to traditional ones as she wrote.

One day, while using her phone in class, she was caught by the teacher. Panicked, Jiang Xue slammed her notebook shut. When she opened it again, her phone was gone!

A line of text had appeared in the notebook:

【What is this object?】

Accompanied by a simple sketch of her phone.

Jiang Xue: …

“Um, pen pal, could you please return the thing that fell through? QAQ”

Later, Jiang Xue had a dream.

In the dream, there was a woman with a frosty demeanor and dignified posture, draped in a heavy cloak, writing at a window with a brush.

Curious, she approached and saw her own handwriting in the book in front of the woman.

Just then, the woman turned, and their eyes met.

Jiang Xue: “…Hi, pen pal?”
